Today Sep 15, 2010. Good to see at last after so many delays and stops - Illayaraja Sir is getting the recognition from Central Govt of India. (National Award) And yet it will be incomplete until he is honored with "Bharat Ratna" in near future along with, 1) M S Subbulakshmi 2) Ravi Shankar 3) Lata Mangeshkar 4) Bismillah Khan 5) Bhimsen Joshi The First Asian to score a Symphony for RPO, London. Along with 5000 songs for 900 Films deserves it !! God of Indian Music = Illayaraja.

Friends no fight here. We ll one. Reason I posted Ilayaraja Sir must be given "Bharat Ratna" - simple.

Still many people(millions) in North India do not know or heard our Ilayaraja Sir's name. Why?

They do not watch Tamil movies or South movies. Can any person be denied like this bcoz they do not watch it.

ARR known all over why? - he did hindi movies also.

Raja Sir must have that Recognition so that he will be known for millions of years in whole India.

India's Musical God = Illayaraja.

Lastly a due of more than 30 years was filled. But very very upset with this too late decision.

Govt of India is like sleeping until Honouring Ilayaraja Sir - " Bharat Ratna " in years to come along with previously awarded people to put him in list below :

1) M S Subbulakshmi

3) Bismillah Khan

4) Bhimsen Joshi

Truely this Indian film composer,singer,lyricist & First Asian to score a Symphony with unimaginable 900 Films & 5000 Songs - Deserve it

what Kamal said here is all true. Illayaraja Sir is more than for which people know him.

He can compose tunes within frames of a second and especially BGM's -- there no one in India -- I am daring at others who disagree with this.. !!!

Ilayaraja Sir shuld have got "BHARAT RATNA" atleast by now . !!

A child has to be born YET in future to overcome what our Maestro Illayaraja Sir has done.

OOh God Take our life & give this man more years to live - to uplift Music & Tamil.. !!
