The 302 us extremly raceable, my 79 fox body runs in the 10.50s and that's all motor, no nos, turbo, super charger or anything. There grate little motors, they just like to blow head gaskets alot.

Okay, well then obviously you had issues with the car because it was a transplant from a very ordinary Camaro. Even the 5.0 (302) can be built to be reliable and run 11's, or a rebuild every other race engine that runs 7's. All on stock transmission and suspension. They are good cars. Obviously you got yours used.
