There is a man that currently lives in Alabama he is one of the best modern archers of all time and he managed to split an arrow. But he used a carbon fiber arrow in his bow.

@160090 lol I saw that video.. I think it's hogwash... it was likely a bad arrow or the arrow was fitted with hollow or weak material inside the arrow that was split.

@160090 Mythbuster did the exact same thing with their re-test.

They used a hollow arrow (one made of small hollow bamboo stick). It's not that hard.

The thing is, period arrows are made from solid wood.
