OK let me be clear: The Sailor Starlights were originally female. When they came to Earth, they transformed themselves into boys to hide from Sailor Galaxia while they searched for their princess. The Starlight's true forms are female.

they are not girls in their original state!!!!!!!! why don't people understand that!!! they are men that transform into women!!!! they are hermaphodites they are not women that dress as men!!! i mean clearly you see the chest of the man, the figre of a man transform n2 a woman!!!! only in the manga r the starlights girls that dress as boys but still transforms....but only in the anime, since the same rule applies that only girls are sailor warriors, r thy originally men tht transform n2 women!!!

I mean concerning the anime, i don't undertand why "by" default, what you're saying basically is that because in the manga, they were women that dressed as men in the manga......they are also women from the start in the anime.....that's not the case in the anime, they are men, they were never women to begin with......if you are saying that they are women or they were women, thats somethn that;s nt ryt, but if youre saying something difrnt plz explain

@AiShiteru345 They are protecting their identities by dressing as men, you know stay hidden while they looked for their Princess. Its not surprising that they can do something like that, for example Serena or Usagi has the ability to change into other people with her Luna Pen, though I don't know if that can change gender, probably could if she tried it. They are women, not were woman. So yeah woman, the still are, but 90 % of the fan-fiction archive makes them guys, but that's wrong.

@AiShiteru345 In the anime they are still women in their true form who disguised themselves as men on earth The big difference between the anime and the manga was that the anime writers decided to take it a step further than simply cross-dressing and have the girls physically change into men, but the fact that they were truly women and the reason for their disguises were the same in both continuities.

Youdumb-asses, in the original manga storyline, the starlight trio go undercover disguised as boys & are actually girls. It's only in the anime they changed that idea. The starlights are transforming hermaphrodite scouts, switching gender back & forth. Of course the original sailor moon author wasn't happy with the idea.

The original manga artist was outraged when she found out that the animation designer made the sailor star lights turn into men on earth. the aren't transgender. they are women that changed their bodies to male on earth in the animation and yes, a lot of the sailor senshi fell in love with each other.

Okay, okay...Their transformation in the ANIME has them as guys who turn into girls, but they really are girls. In the MANGA they are just disguised as guys, due to Naoko's rule that only GIRLS could be senshi. And she was mad when they canged the Starlights into guys in the Anime.

It depends on the version.

In the anime they're women but they've used something akin to Usagi's disguise pen (as I understand it)so as to pass as men. I have a feeling it was talked about in their character songs but it's been a while since I heard them. In the manga they're women who simply dress as men so long as you don't look too hard.
