I speak Irish. Samhain is the Irish for November AND Hallowe'en. Just like 'Nollaig' is the word for Christmas and December (You must remember that Irish became very Christian-based after my ancestors were converted).
I've never heard of Samhain being pronounced differently. Here, there is only one pronounciation; "Sowh-in".
The songs used on this video were lovely! Nice job!! :O Blessed be! x
@AngieEnchantress It's called "Celtic Requiem (Urban Mix)". The original Celtic Requiem was by Elliot Simons. You can find this remix and the original on youtube.
do a google search on Samhain lots of sites have the history of Samhain on there. its my religions halloween.. I am a pagan. its a part of the wiccan/witch holidays
@wickedistheshiz its the origin of Halloween kinda. that and the solstices they held. it was the day the passage between this world and the afterlife is thinnest. Most Pagans would light candles at altars or graves so the souls found their way back.
None of that music sounds like Glenn!

Lord of the dead.. something to do with death n that, not to be confused with the Devil.

Samhain(Pronounced Sow-een) is the Wiccan New Year, but do more research on googel or some other site
PunkDirector86 2 years ago
It's sow-in, and it's was originally a Celtic harvest festival and festival of the dead.
It's also the Irish word for November.
ParamoreWorshipper 2 years ago 2
Lots of people pronouce it differently but i pronounce it Sow-in as well
goddesschild24 2 years ago 6
It's supposed to be pronounced sow-in because "mh" is like the English "w", and "een" would have been "í" with a fada.
ParamoreWorshipper 2 years ago
@goddesschild24 I thought your pronunciation was the only correct one.
BgMsDangerus 3 months ago
@ParamoreWorshipper
"sow-ween" is the Wales pronunciation.
Just as "sow-in" is the Irish one.
