@Mappos I dont know much about cubase, however I believe that if buy the VST effect version of this, you can put it on any guitar track that you would like. So I am pretty sure the answer is yes.
@ipnutt22 True, I bought the Toneport UX 8 and it came with pod farm, but I did try to use it with my XPsound interface and it wouldn't work. There's no selection for anything but line 6 interfaces in the selection box
Yes. i find myself playing guitar much much more often now that I have it. Well I bought a UX1 with it. But it's just very fun to use and can give great sounds at low volumes.
Pre-amp is the electrical signal from the pick-ups to the instrument cable that you can change with effects that affect the signal before it reaches the actual power/post-amp section (The sound that you actually hear coming out of the amp) While post amp is the power section that physically creates the sound you hear so you can edit that as well. Hope that helps. :)
I own a line 6 UX2, and honestly I do not like the tone I get, even though pod farm interface is an improvement over Gearbox, . I just can't get used to that Line 6 sound. Guitar Rig 3 is an improvement sound wise IMO, but you just can't beat the sound of an actual amp.
At least you can use the UX2 to mic an amp.
It's good for people just starting out creating their own music because it has tones for guitar, bass, and vocals.
That's about the only good thing I can say about this.
Line 6 is awsome i own a line 6 spider valve112 and it's just awsome. the tone, effects everything and yes there are other good brands and i think you can't compare brands with each other because they both always have pros and cons. Eventually it's what you like the best
wow ur kidding right, spider 75 watt/? thats like 300 bucks.
and if u support spider in everyway, why are you trying to get it for free.
and finally, because its my goal as a youtube video tutorialist to answer everybodys question, look up torrents to get it for free, thats all the more im going to say
you need a USB or Firewire audio interface... i use the Line 6 Toneport UX8 on stage.. i plug my guitar into it (1/4") then the Ux8 is plugged into my mac via USB 2.0.. then i have the output on the ux8 go to the amp/PA.. open pod farm, set your sounds.. boom.. your done.. if your just running 1 instrument, I would suggest getting the M-Audio Fast track or fast track Pro as your audio interface
I bought my Toneport UX2 1 year ago and have been using Gearbox til just recently. Podfarm is by far much simpler and more easy to set up. Plus the fact that it sound better aswell.. :P
im looking into getting something like this, but im confused. why can you use headphones but not speakers? also, you can play through the computer speakers after you've recorded it, right?
I use the POD Farm with a cabinet impulse rather than the POD Farm's built in cab emulator and it sounds WAY better. Very cool program. I definitely recommend it. You can pretty much come up with whatever tone you want - even AFTER you record, which is fantastic.
Can you use the same pedal in two seperate channels at once? For example could I run a a fuzz face in each channel? One going to a fender, and the other to a marshall?
Just updated from my Line 6 Gearbox to POD Farm... ( FOR FREE!) its such a wonderfull interface and such smooth operation..so much nicer than line 6s gearbox...sounds like spam but its not
Save $700 dollars, even if it seems much, work hard for a month of 2, and buy the upcoming pod x3 pro (rack mound)
its like having 2 pod xt pro (or bass pod xt pro), a ux2 recording device and pod farm platinum plug in (all the amps, cabinets, effects guitar-bass-vocals) plus all the inputs and outputs U need... in one device.
I think the next step for line 6 is putting a a coffee machine on these stuff or something :)
they've done some seriously great work this year...
Hey dude ! Line6 GearBox or Pod Farm runs with MAC OS (tiger or leopard), or Windows (XP SP2 and Vista), hardware minimum requirements are - 512m ram, 1gb free space hd, pentium 4 1.2ghz processor). I believe that the standalone software version runs only with line6 audio hardware installed (suchs toneport), and the plugin version should run with any audio hardware and audio software (anyone can confirm for us)? I apologize my poor english language ok ! Cheers, Antunes
'Tis very cool. dammit now i gotta save up again. i like the sales dude, no loud monster-truck-style sales pitches. when he said it's compatible w/any L6 audio interface, does that mean EVERY interface-like as in the pocketpod? or does it gotta be the X3 series? i also have the ux2 i trust it'll be compatible. anyways good to see L6 is listening and responding
do you have the gearbox plugin ? i've red that the owners of the gearbox plugin will be able to get it for free. so at least it means it works with the toneport (i'm myself using a ux2)
but anyway even without it it doesn't really makes a difference, the best thing is the look here, even if the new rig system is a good improvement

Surprisingly Guitar Rig 2 sounds better to me than 3. The distortion in 3 is really rich and full.. but the cleans sound great in GR2.
But yeah, everyone has their preference. What matters is, if you can enjoy the sound coming out of it, then you can make great music with it. :)
