  • Anyone know the name of the track that the demo uses?

  • @Mouselord96

somebody has the demo songs uploaded on youtube.

  • @blitzvomitew16 I'm sure they do, but I'd still like to know the name. Would be easier to find.

  • cool video and narration. keep it up

  • the 1st time i played FF7, i NEVER got past the 1st boss!

i died trying to get out of the reactor.

that was back in 1999. i did not beat FF7 until 2001 when i was more aware of how to play the game & what to do.

  • Music is definitely different, such as there being a longer reverb in the music when you step into the elevator

  • the damage numbers in battle are different, they're like in ff6 and not like in the final game

  • i mean we all have ps1's, but this guy needs to get a new tv, nothing against him i think he jsut needs to upgrade to the 21st century, good video btw ;) no hard feelings

  • @arabkiwi I use my 1080p monitor to play modern consoles, I use my older tv to play everything that is standard def since they look horrible on an hd set. Plus traditional light guns will not work on an lcd.

  • @arabkiwi na screw that. we gotta stay old school homeboy

  • @musashidtr

    old skool, word up!

  • I remember seeing this Demo when I was a kid. My older brothers played it with a friend and I was awed. Been looking for this for some time now.

  • :D I own this, too. Just found my copy of it. Such nostalgia~

  • I used to love this demo, never got to play the acutal complete game until 06 hahaha.

When I saw AC i was like, where is the pink girl??... I liked aerith.

    She is indeed clouds GF.

  • Personally I always though Cloud and Tifa were closer then him and Aeris. He basically just meets Aeris at the begining of the game but Tifa he has known since he was a little kid.

  • @gamemaster14neo

I have to second you comment on Cloud and Tifa there. :)

  • @gamemaster14neo well Tifa likes cloud... but Cloud Likes Aerith which likes Cloud in turn. I dont say but the developers and the movie did =/

  • doesn't cloud spin his sword the other way in the finished version?

  • this is cool great upload!

  • Instead of saying Limit it's Special.

  • i wouldn't have mind the intro text. that way i wouldn't have to wait for the stars to clear.

  • Thanks so much for putting this up!

  • Ha! In the battles, it says "Fight" rather than "Attack"

  • I'm not sure if anyone posted about this yet but notice how the combat system is a little different in this demo as well?

The characters are looking inward and and monsters are far more cluttered then they are in the original version..

Also, the picture of Cloud when you win a battle is the one that shows when Cloud is talking about his past. "Young Cloud"...

ALSO, the animations for winning the battle, for example when cloud spins his sword, it's much more detailed.

  • The pictures of Barret and Aeris are also different from the final game.

  • im glad somebody finally did a video about this. not too many people know that the demo had better quality music than the final retail version.

  • Here's something to note: Hedgehog Pie enemies are not in the Mako Reactor in the final.

  • I noticed that the currency was GP instead of Gil.

  • Good catch,

  • The reason mako reactor was called "makoro plant" seems to me a translation err0r, you see, mako reactor in japanese is "Makō Ro".

  • Something I noticed (that you surprisingly didn't) is that there was no CG shot of the train using the brakes.

  • the music quality in the demo is way way better than the final game. especially the battle theme. it doesnt sound all honky and shit like all the music in the final game.

  • If you want to compare the quality best way, you should search for final fantasy vii demo psf, the musics ripped from the demo.

  • I was at first confused by the existence of this demo. I had heard that the only demo was one of a series of increasingly difficult battles and no exploration or exposition. I took me a while to realize that that was the demo for the PC verion of FFVII, not the playstation.

  • Ah, the battle arena demo. I remember that. If memory serves there were atleast 2 or 3 demos for the pc version including one where you were in the mountain area.

  • This demo is pretty good I just noticed somewhere the story dialog was a little mistranslated but maybe it was a rough idea of the story before the actual game came out.

  • I figure they just quickly translated this chunk just for the demo and didnt take the time to polish it like they would for a full game.

  • Some of the musical pieces sound different in some places. I guess the music wasn't finalized when this demo came out.
