@Scianaphobia First of all, the point of this project we had to due for school wasnt to 'remake' this fantastic piece of art. Nor were we poking fun at it. We were just making a film with the similar elements to the original. If what we've done is a disgrace. then I think you need to rethink what surreal video art is.
I get what you were trying to do but surrealism is all about the dream state, and how things don't always flow from one moment to another. Your video totally had a flow of events, and the only thing that was similar was the time differences. Perhaps disgrace was a harsh word, but I still don't get it. To each their own.
@Scianaphobia Surrealism isnt just about the dream state. That is just one element that got to be over used in my opinion. Surrealism There was a lot of practice in philosophy and social theory in their work.
The point is this was done during my first year in art school. I barley knew about this stuff. Im learning. I dont think my professor was trying to make us create these pieces that were a disgrace. We used Dali's film to learn about cinematography in an artsy way.
This is kind of a disgrace to the original...
