you don't know which is her right arm. pause the vid just when she's got her leg streched out to a maximum. how do you know which leg that is? it could be either one. when she's facing you, how do you know she's not got her back turned? you don't, cus those two sillhouettes are identical. it all depends on your brain

It has to do with which side of your brain you do most of the thinking with. If she turns clockwise, it means you do most of the thinking with the right side of you brain. if she turns counter-clockwise, you do most of the thinking with the left side of your brain.

It's tedious, but you can train your eyes to see her spin in the opposite direction on command. You can make it appear as though she is going back and forth/left to right while constantly facing you or constantly facing away. Do so by staring right at her but, focus your attention on your perifferal vision while you decide to make her change direction, then focus your vision back to what you're actually looking at when you're done visualizing it. Speed up the switch little by little if possible.

A really good mental exercise with this illusion is to have her change the direction of rotation. I don't mean by starting at different spots in the video, but at any time while the video is running. It's difficult to do, but once you can do it, it becomes relatively easy to change her direction at will. I think this extra exercise may create better left/right hemisphere communication, and that can't be all bad. Give it a try.
