But, anyway, my main problem with it is that the mouse is one of those old mouses with the ball thing. Also the USB ports don't work and when I try to install the driver it crashes before the login screen even comes up and I have to uninstall it in safe mode to get it to work again. Still, not bad.

Windows 2000 (not to be confused with Windows ME, which was a dog) was about the most stable version I can recall. XP took several years to get to a stable and usable state, but it's not bad, since it's just Windows 2000 in a party dress after a few glasses of punch. The less said about Vista the better.
