It took a long time to learn just 10 minutes. When I play out I usually use 3 decks plus 2 samplers. That's plenty and much easier to map out on a controller.

It'd definitely be easier on Traktor Pro... this was recorded a month after Traktor Pro was released officially... but Traktor Pro was still very buggy at this point.

...Looping is better in Pro because you can save your loops.

One hour: a good sign of a busy, very *live* DJ. Any longer than that and you have to ration out the tweaks and tricks to conserve energy.

Understandable why you chose not to display it: Traktor displays it between decks A & B and therefore your wave displays would not be as wide. They fixed this design flaw in Traktor Studio Pro. Look forward to see a TSP vid.

I don't use the cross fader. btw... it's easier to use the volume faders on each channel when you use 4 decks.

I started at about 21. You'll probably need about $1500, but it totally depends what type of setup you get. I'd check out the DJTechTools site for advice. There's a really good forum on there with friendly people. You can learn a lot from them.

There's only a couple parts of the mix where I actually have to EQ... it's mostly at the end. The rest of it sounds okay without eqing... Most of the time when there's a bunch of tracks playing at once I'm using tracks that effect separate parts of the frequency spectrum.

No usually I don't keep this up the whole night long... usually my sets are a
