If I'm not mistaken, they did all of the testing at 100 yards. According to the data on the box at 100 yards it @ +2.25 with a velocity of 1510 ft/sec and 2078 ft lbs energy.

It's a tack driver that packs a whollup.

Ithaca model 37 deerslayer III with Remington Accutip sabot slugs, that is laser accurate right there. I like how the say the weather conditions and wind speeds but they don't tell you how far away the target is. It looks like around 50 yards, if it is, im not very impressed.

I love these slugs. I shoot the 20 ga 3 in mags. Shot them out of a mossberg 500 with a 3-7 nikkon prostaff. Took the target out to 100 yards and put 3 within 2-3 inches. I took it out to 150 yards and shot 2 within 4 inches but about a foot low.

Too bad Hastings went out of business. I use 12ga 2 3/4 Hastings slugs out of my 870 with hastings barrel for deer. I would really like to be able to hand load the same round when my ammo supply dries up.

I've tried em all in 16 years. They all gave fliers due to sabot not releasing even. I tried these and shoot 1.5" grps @ 100.killed 12 deer in 3 years. Farthest was 167 yds angling away. Slug went in behind rear rib and lodged under skin in neck n front of far side shoulder. Went down like a house fell on him. Very impressive. None of the other deer ran more than 30 yards and 2 big holes like the guy said. At $8.00 a box I'll never put any other slug in my gun.

you know if your only going to shoot at 150 yards just use 7/8 rifled slugs in your rilfed barrel there shooting at 1900fps and the best of all there only 2.00 dollers a box unless you like paying 20.00 dollers for a box of 5 rounds .thats how we all hear hunt and get are deer

If you enjoy filling up the rifling with lead. it only takes one shot so just spent the 10.99.

all it doesnt put lead in barrel it has a wad cup around it now we started making are own we got a lee mold we use them on dround hogs and every thang this is hoe we load them .. 12 2 3/4 40grs of powder a waa wad cup with hand cast lee slug we can make them a hole lot cheaper so we shoot at every thang at pop can at 100 yrds to seewho can hit the most buys the beer lol good hunting to you

Yes, it would DEFINITELY be enough no problem. People have killed African Eland With smaller guns than a 12 gauge 3 inch magnum

I feel that the 12 gauge 3 inchers would be plenty. Most guides carry a 30 caliber round rather it be a 30-30, 30-06, 300, 308...but the favored one being the 30-30 because its short and can carry alot of rounds. A 12 gauge non-sabot round is 58 caliber. They will travel alot slower than your high powered rifles but at 100 yards, they will have about 2,000 pounds of kinetic energy. Remington makes a accubond ballistic tipped slug that will shoot less than one inch groups at 100 yards.

If you are a slug gun deer hunter, this is a good product. One note, the 3" 12ga mag packs a heck of a recoil. Or maybe I'm just getting old! Jim

The point of the extended length creates a more aerodynamic projectile allowing it to travel up to 200 yards with very little drop and maintain nearly all of it's kinetic energy.
