It's really amazing how this song can give you a step back from things and lets you have true insight on things. Reminds me of an old shroom trip. It's really beautiful. If you like this check out Chromakey Dreamcoat.
@88Cortex No worries at all ;) And thank you for your response and compliment. I did video for a few years as a break or alternate to playing drums. Although it never turned into a full time hobby I was able to use old super 8 family films and transform them into visuals to music I love like BOC. The true reward is having people all over the internet continue to enjoy it with me.
so you realize that this sounds pretty good considering the bit rate right? i think most of us would agree if you want to submerse yourself in BOC; a nice stereo and some is the way to go. However this is after all YouTube and well; sorry you couldn't enjoy the video on a site that is all about videos. i would suggest perhaps playing the track on your system and muting the sound on YouTube and perhaps you will be able to enjoy my interpretation of the song.
@Spyscience yes yes, it does for the bitrate. I didn't mean to offend it :) Sorry if I didn't focus on the video you made for the track.. because I can tell you this: it is very amazing!
im not gana lie, i have gotan stoned to ALOT of songs and artists befor but i listend to this song and the rest of the album today for the first time soba, and NEVER befor has an album struck such an emotional responce with me befor, while i was listning to this song and the song after it "Peacock Tail" i closed my eyes, and felt better than being stoned without taking anything! and thats naver happend to me befor, theys guys realy do no how to do what they do! they are MASTERS of there music!
@sorrycaps haha nice...they like their subtle cues... no meaning though, unless you assign some sort of personal belief to it of course. i think they do it prove that anyone can fuck with language, when it's the music that speaks louder than the words, transcending good and evil, duality...
no need to be so negative and judgemental about people sharing their opinions about BOC. How you choose to experience BOC is up to the user and how they experience it whether high or sober is a choice. how they comment
@Spyscience Hey yeah sorry might have come across too strongly there, but I wasn't telling anyone to change what they do, I totally respect that - I was just expressing my opinion.. maybe a bit too strongly! It's just, all the time I see under loads of BOC videos people talking about how amazing their music is high, which it probably is. I just think that sobriety is just as powerful and vast as being high. That last comment didn't encapsulate what I really wanted to say, my apologies.
There is such fucking stupid connotations with BOC about getting high on drugs to fully appreciate their music. Bullshit! I think people need to quit the pretence, think internally rather than externally and take time out in their room, sober-minded, to listen to this beauty. I introduced my mate to BOC a while ago and all he can say about them is that their music is amazing while high. The only way to experience BOC properly is through your real, true state of mind.
@Ledhead90210 That is your perception and opinion and nothing more. It does not apply to everybody. Your normal state of mind is not the same as everybody else's. Drugs simply change the lenses that you view the world through (perception and vision). Don't judge your friend because he thinks differently than you. Drugs allow me to look at music differently than I would sober. They allow me to view the world differently.
@Ledhead90210 Drugs often make music feel more intense, leading people to the opinion that the music is better while drugged. The music is good when you are sober. But drugs can magnify your feelings from the music. I enjoy listening to music sober and tripping or high. I enjoy tripping or being high more than my normal state of mind in general because I am much happier.
I once know a friend who was on LSD all year and he was our student rep and completely did awesome on his BA... Curious case of that. Wonderful Visual and really HQ embedded good sound
@Mr100books If you like getting high, why not just get high? I can guarantee you that if you eat a few magic mushrooms and listen to this, it will bring fantasy to life.. Fucking out of this world amazing
@Mr100books i was like that too man , then i smoked pot (in my opinion shits awesome) listened to boc and brought tears to my eyes cause it was so awesome
@Mr100books Same here. Though the one time I did try psilocybin mushrooms, a good portion of it was my brain playing a mash of all of the Boards of Canada songs I had listened to so much (the room was silent, so this was all coming from memory). It was probably the most amazing experience of my life. <3
This song is the most amazing dream, unreal, psychedlic fantasy. The guitar riff is gentle, but still hard core. Then electronic paint drips in... It's a painting inside my mind.
Yeah, BOC is the soundtrack to the forests, and beaches of Washington really. All the footage I used is over on the coast and up in the Olympic Peninsula back in the 60's.
Really should see if I can get a job up there once I finish my degree. Nothing quite like those calm cloudy days on the beach... Canon Beach Oregon specifically is where the majority of my memories reside...Ever been there?
@Spyscience HAHAHA I love Washington. And I completely agree. I like to walk in the forests when it is raining a slight drizzle and listen to them. So good!
actually, the footage is some family stuff. It is old 8mm which didn't have any sound. I just happened to get it to match up luckily...it worked out perfect for this awesome track.
Wow! It's amazing how some of the shots in my video are almost identical to the shots in my video at the same times... Must have something to do with the music... Powerful visual music.
Such a wonderful creation...
