Cool song and great guitarsound for a 1970 album. But better than Priest? Yes, this is the original version but come on, Priest made such a fantastic cover that it moves the song to a different genre, and strangely they didn't include a solo
@vladsomb This BLOWS AWAY Priest's version. I thought the Priest version was a hastily produced afterthought of album filler, and the title track to 'Stained Class' is much better than their attempt at this song. Armageddon's version is even better than the Spooky Tooth original, and I don't say that about remakes/cover versions of songs often.
@00RockyAngel00 I disagree the Priest version is a classic Robs emotion on on the vocals is awesome just listen to him as the song fades out and thePriest track also has a darker edge which fits the song much better
@klbax63 Image and a bigger push from mainstream commercial radio doesn't make more emotion or a darker edge. If anything a song with less of both is more likely to get more commercial radio airplay.

That sounds like Kieran White from Steamhammer. Armageddon formed in 1974.

Not a bad cover. Vocals are good. I like what they did with the main riff. Heavy 70s vibe from beginning to end. I like it.

I would say each of the three versions have their own edge. The guitar solo in this one is outstanding, but to short, it was just taking off when...

This version is the most kick ass I have ever heard...(although kudos to Steppenwolf vocals). Still fantastic. Thx 4 sharing this masterpiece.

Yeah, definitely not. I can't find this band anywhere but here. Weird. Anyway, this was the best cover of this song.

Wait, which Armageddon is this? This isn't Keith Relf, is it?
NeverAloneForever 1 year ago
@NeverAloneForever
Nope, this is the German band - one self-titled album in '70. Great, electrified guitar solos.

@trustcrusher1 Yeah, I noticed that. I wonder how long they lasted. You know?

... and nobody is talking about the original version with the great Gary Wright (who wrote the song) together with his great SPOOKY TOOTH.
Right, THAT WAS ONLY YESTERDAY, when we were WAITING FOR THE WIND...
