Basically an Iphone, but not as serious since you are literally not as strong/fast/smart as your competitor in business. What's starts as an interesting moral dilemma which parallels the arguments over the legalization of drugs (an athlete feeling pressure to take steroids and a salesman feeling pressure to take speed to keep up with their competition) fast turns into tin foil hat conspiracy theories involving evil corporations. Then again, I could see Google using augmentation, spying on our lives, controlling humanity and forcing us to see ad pop ups every minute of our lives.

Secondly, by "perfectly functional" I think the implication is that the majority of people have perfectly healthy bodies, but in this storyline, the corporations basically organise society so that people have no choice but to get augmentations and become addicted to their drugs in order to survive in the commercial market, therefore allowing them to completely take control of society and take away people's freedoms.

You share this idea with more people by making it a movie rather than a game. But don't get me wrong, i belive games are a better medium than movies will ever be, but it's still a young one.
