@bdarazs  You probably will have a Realtek Audio Manager (most commonly used audio drivers) which will appear in your tray next to your internet connection and volume control. Go into the audio manager and switch it to 5.1 surround.

Although it's probably caused by less than perfect grounding, I shouldn't need perfect grounding.

@matreddedil Laptops can't use it if they don't have the input for it (only the socket for mic an headset for example). So you got though luck there

SOMEONE HELP!?

Ok well, I've had these for years... pretty much right after they came out. I believe they were fine until just recently I decided to re-arrange my room and of course then needed to re-arrange my speakers. Now... my left outputs seem to not work anymore??? Center and both front and rear right outputs work fine but both left outputs don't work. The speakers themselves work. Either this happened a long time ago and I just haven't noticed or it just recently happened.

It seems the e-mail at the end of this video is no longer in service? We bought our daughter a Logitect X530 surround sound to connect to her PS3. We were able to get the rear speakers to work, and the woofer, but not the 3 front speakers. Any help you can offer would be appreciated. We like the sound so far, but if all speakers will not work, we will return the system.

@mrsotheremail The reason all of the speakers don't work is because you have only connected 1 of the audio jacks and not all three a splitter should be provided to connect the 2 (red/white) ps3 audio cables to the 3 jacks

@01chohan Thank you so much for the reply! We had found information on the Play Station forum too as how to properly connect the speakers to the PS3 and they do sound awesome! We are now attempting to also have the TV play through the speakers too. Any feed back? The phone number as well as the site this video refers to are useless. Neither could help at all, stated to contact logitech, which I did and they too were useless.

@mrsotheremail No problem! I don't really know much about connecting your TV your surround system but you can try this: buy a 3 way 3.5mm jack splitter and connect each of the jacks from your speakers to the splitter and then connect the splitter into your headphone socket into your TV. You can look on Amazon and they are relatively cheap there.

@mrsotheremail the three speakers are only usable if you have the ports to plug them into. I'm lucky to have a microphone jack which i can switch to a speaker setting.

We do have all speakers and the woofer box working for the PS3 and for DVD's played in the PS3. Now we are attempting to figure out how to get the TV itself to play with the surround sound.

You can get full 5.1 out of these from a ps3 or xbox 360 get the digital converter box from the tritton ax pro's. They have built in analog to digital conversion.

Had the x-530 for years now, still amazing quality and still as good as current 5.1 speaker systems. only draw back is that there is no digital optical or coxail input, works great on pc though with the jack inputs.

@Alex1994Science If it's hooked properly in 5.1 the back two channels are for surround tracks, so if you are not listening to something in 5.1 you aren't going to hear anything out of the back to speakers. the center channel is for dialogue in a 5.1 mix.

I bought this set a year ago..i love em! Go to audio settings on your pc and switch to 5.1..all speakers will work. If you have realtek audio you can customize your sound preferences. I havent even cranked it yet...i live in an apt. Half way i got complaints..boooo!

I got an adapter when in the x-530 package that i can connect my gaming console to.

I used that adapter and connected a 3,5mm till 2 x RCA High-End cable into the 3.5mm headset on the tv.

Neither, go with the Klipsch Promedia 2.1. I just upgraded to them from an x-540 and wow!. Don't let the 5.1 fool you. A quality 2.1 will smoke a cheap 5.1 system like logitech.

You could try it. It's not going to break anything, that I can assure you. If it sucks up too much electricity the battery will most likely just die so you should have it plugged in to recharger while using them.

And w/e your media player of choice, I can't stress how important a well EQ'd device will make these sound phenomenal. I spent a good portion of time properly Equalizing Winamp and the result is crisp highs and warm humming lows regardless of content. I even have the Sub set to Zero and this room just shakes. I can say these speakers didn't sound great with things set to default or any of the preset EQs so fiddle for a satisfying result.

I own 2 pairs of these for a 8x14' room. 1st set used-40$ off kijiji, 2nd set month later used-30$. Bought 4 or 5 stereo Y adapters and extension cords from a dollar store & doubled all inputs on my 5.1 OnBoard sound card-1 pair is set up in the front of the room and the other in the rear w/ the speakers evenly distributed. I use Winamp and try to stick w/ flac format media. The result is impressive sound quality w/ dual x-530's for less then 80$. I HIGHLY recommend these 5.1's ;)
