I never knew what truely happened in the pacific until i watched "Letters from Iwo Jima" & HBO's "The Pacific". I have so much respect for WW2 Veterans regardless but these soldiers in the Pacific truely went through psychological & physical hell. The Japs' kept the American's & soldiers of the British Empire awake every night with flares etc, these soldiers were exhausted. Most of them were young and too eager which got them killed. The Jap's would have won if they didn't "banzai" etc. RIP vets
il ne faudra jamais oublier ces hommes et ces femmes qui on combattu pour libérer des terres qui n'étais pas les leur, loin de chez eux et de leur familles.
I won't sit here and make lies about having a marine, or a soldier in my family, just my simple and humble thanks. For all who helped keep this country the way it is. "With the old breed, or with the new breed, as long as it's the Marine breed". Hoo-rah.
I'm Chinese and I remember that my grandpa said China wouldn't have won the war without the help from the US. Bloody hell, can't believe the Japs nearly took half of the world 60 years ago. May those who sacrificed in that war rest in peace coz they did the right thing.
There's a movie that has a similar type of soundtrack to it and I can't think of it. If anyone has any ideas on other movies that have similar soundtracks, it'd be appreciated
Goose bumps. I'm 17 and I've been thinking about joining the Corps, but this song and movie just makes me really want to join haha. Haven't joined yet, but I will
I get something in my eye every time I listen to this piece... };-)
If you haven't watched "The Pacific", do so. I'm an Army guy, but after watching this magnificent series I respect my brothers and sisters in the U.S. Marine Corps even more than I did before....Thank you for this video!!
This track moved me to tears the first time i heard it, and after it was finished i stood up in salute to all the brave men and women who gave they're livees for our freedom, you will always be remembered.
@lisacrimsonrose i usually skip the intros in different series...but not this one...have heard this song atleast 30+ times and it still moves me as much as the first time...
I'll never forget the scene where Chesty Puller is telling his tattered clothed men that he was sorry he couldn't get them new uniforms, but that they good that way for a reason.
in my opinion this score conveys both the premise of hope but the dissonance to me is representative of the danger that the soldiers are in and the fear that they have i find it to be more emotive than the band of brothers theme which of course was also excellent but this score is just so much better
Amazing. This is just a perfect piece to theme the pacific. However, imo, this soundtrack isn't even half as good as in Band Of Brothers. It very.. well gloomy lol. It would probably be perfect as background music for the pacific, behind the battles and for suspense and all, but the Band of brothers soundtrack was so much more than background music. Anyone agree?
Anyway, thanks for uploading it and the rest of the soundtrack. : D
@PrivateMilano Depends on who you ask. Each score tells a story. It has a certain mood, and you can take away what you want from it. Sure, it may not spur your imagination as the Band of Brothers' soundtrack might, but it sure does mine and perhaps many others. It's moving all the same. :)
@PrivateMilano I would only say this track is more emotional than BOB's. At the end of theday they are both different as were the battles in Pacific and in Europeon theaters.
@linee2009 what did they give to you? it hasnt brought you very much to fight our nation (not this single regime, but our nation as a whole, from 1900 to now on). or did you gain any benefits by killing millions of innocent men, women and children, here in german cities and in hiroshima and nagasaki likewise??? your troops werent that honourful, fair and great army you believe them to be, nor they were in vietnam, and not even today...
@Fr1392 Complete fucktard much? Let's not forget that your Nazi regime killed far more people. You bombed England and they bombed you back. War is war and nothing else. The people of Germany could have stood up against the Nazis when the war was coming to an end in Europe, but instead, they did nothing. Also, the Communists killed more people including your citizens in retaliation for the rape/murder of their own people by the German people.
@CaptainRichardReiben we never killed millions of civilist by bombing the enemy cities. our aim were the factories ect.! We did not nuke 2 big cities full of innocent civilists! Your soldiers werent "nicer" than ours at all! WE STOOD UP! Inform yourself before you talk so much bullshit (Stauffenberg, Weiße Rose...)! And did you know that our soldiers in some russian villages helped those people rebuild their houses etc., whilst their soldiers murdered their own countrymen?
@Fr1392 You forget about the purging of the Jews, gypies, etc. committed by the Nazi regime which totaled 6 million. And the boming of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was the only way to end the war in the Pacific. Even if we invaded the mainland, the casaulties would have been the same. And your country bombed the cities of England during the German Air Force's failure of the Battle of Britain. As for us not being nice to our enemies during that war, bullshit, the Nazis killed without remorse.
@CaptainRichardReiben well, we were a state led by a tyrant, you called yourself a "democratic state" ;) btw: the number "6 Million" came up in the last 10 or 20 years. even in auschwitz itself it is stated that it were 4 million. and even this number is far too high, the russians just manipulated it for propaganda. The main difference is: we lived in tyranny, brought to us by poverty which in turn was brought by you. you were a rich, democratic republic.
@PrivateMilano Nope. Don't agree at all. Sorry. I believe that with something like this, the meaning behind both pieces, you can't just compare them like that. There's just no way.
Guys, this is beautiful, stirring music-can't you just enjoy it?
