  • I'm sitting in the hotel room waiting for family day tomorrow in San Diego!! I can't wait to see my brother <3

  • This is for a young man....as I am 28 my window has closed.

  • My son was at DLI and learned Farsi and Dari. Now he is back at CP training. I love having him at CP because we live in San Diego so we get to see him on some weekends. He still would rather hang out with his friend vs. his family but we get to see him more than we did when he was in Monterey.

My son is training in the northern most part of CP. Where is yours?

  • Just found this post. Awesome! Our son was Hotel Co. July 2009 also. Probably standing right near you! How is your guy doing? July 16 was an awesome day and the 17th was even better. God Bless your son. Ours is at CP now.

  • I had tears in my eyes when we saw my son's Moto Run at MCRD, San Diego. To see a little kid who couldn't walk the first time I saw him grow into a man willing to defend his country is a great thing.

  • To all those Marines that have and will run the Moto Run, I congratulate you. I have done my part at boot camp and now must do my part in Afghanistan. I will look forward to those Marines after me to join me in battle. Pfc Knudson. 2/3 Hawaii

  • God Speed to you, Marine.

  • @MarineofIA I believe that's Staff SGT Knudson now? Unless you have a brother or something.

  • hey i've noticed that there arent that many people there

is it because the other families got there late or was it like that the whole day?

if there's not that many people there then getting a good view wont be a problem...will they let us stand by the platoons number and not go to the DI brief?

  • There were quite a few people there. People are lined up for each PLT. No, you can't cross the over to get to the line up position until after the DI brief. You wait near there but you can't cross over.

Getting a good view point was a matter of being ready to get somewhere quickly. The boys run by you twice. So if you don't get a good spot the first time, be ready to turn around and face the opposite direction. Is your BF's video posted yet? Should be up there very very soon

  • Omg I can't wait till my brothers graduation in a few weeks if anyone has any tips to get a front row view like how early etc. Thx !!!!!!

  • Congratulations! I don't think it matters how early you get there, but right after the DI brief, be ready to go to the spot for his PLT or I had my husband go to the brief and I waited by the spot where my son would go. Find out where he stands in relation to the guidon to determine where you should stand. You will see numbers on the ground that is where the guy holding the guidon will stand.

Enter Gate 5. They will search your car. I'm happy to help with any ?'s.

  • Congrats to you Deanna...I was standing very close to this position watching our nephew graduate and it was so intense and amazing. We wish your son all the best.

  • Thanks so much. I have to say, it was my proudest moment as a mother. Is your nephew at MCT Camp Pendleton right now?

  • Congratuations! It really is a special day. You will cry the whole time. We got to family day at 7 am. The guys were on the parade deck practicing for graduations day. Find out exactly where your bf stands in relations to the guidon (flag) so you may spot him early. We decorated the car and his brother and sister had signs. He got teased but he said it made him happy. It is a LONG day. You won't see him until 11 but you need the DI brief. I will write you privately with more info.

  • my bf will be graduating noon on september 11th and i am going to cry like a little baby when i see him for the first time during the moto run...can u let me know wat time is the best time to go on family day?
