  • I was predestined to be Arminian.

  • “In my own church I am called to submit to the authority of the presbytery or to the session of the local church…And yet at the same time the church says, ‘we know our confessions could be wrong and some of the ordinances of our are possibly incorrect.’”

1Tim3:15 ...that thou may know how thou ought to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

If his church can be wrong on faith and morals; he belongs to the wrong church

  • how come the lips don't match the words?

  • Champdiggity

    God has a will

Matthew 6:10 (KJV) Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

God does not want men sinning..

    John 5:40 (KJV)

And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

    people rebel...

it proves people have a will to choose

  • people have freedom to choose

John 7:17 (KJV) If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

false teaching claims men do not and freedom of will to stop sinning..and Christians always keep sinning and have no choice to stop....

just start asking ,,can a Christian stop sinning?

  • @openairpreacher Man's will, if left to its self, w/o God intervening, will run after sin and darkness every time. A makes choices/wills based on the dictates of his heart. Man's will is the servant of the heart. A servant is not free. The heart being deceitfully wicked, takes its pleasure in unrighteousness. Without a regenerating work of the Holy Spirit in putting a new heart in a soul, that soul will continue to run after sin as if it were water.

  • this is great! thanks R.C.

  • God salvation is not for people who keep sinning,, example

God will not let evil people in His kingdom

    they must repent

  • Those who God gives salvation, He will clean.

All genuine believers progress in repentance, the question is: Is that by their own free will and effort, or God's sovereign providence and guidance?

  • its by their freewill God does not clean people against their will! thats the twisting deception of Calvinism,, its gains greater deception when these people say they die sinning and never get clean before death

  • @openairpreacher Why does anyone think there is a god or any salvation? It's a total load of rubbish.

  • its really sad people buy into this

God give people freewills to choose

  • To God alone be the glory of salvation, not free will.

  • I am curious, where is the word free will in the Bible?

  • John 8:32 (KJV) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:36 (KJV) If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Romans 6:18 (KJV) Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

calvinists hate these verses it exposes the spirit of anti-christ

  • Sin is avoidable,

if sin is not avoidable then sinning would

    not be a choice.

If sinning is unavoidable then there would be no choice

and God would not be able to judge.

God made men with a freewill to make choices ,

so then God is righteous in judgment!

  • What do these verses have to do with free will? As far as I can tell they simply say the word "free." Moreover, they are also speaking of people who are saved.

  • Champdiggity

God's will is people stop sinning

so man must have a freewill to stop,,

calvinism claims God has a secret will that wants people sinning.. and proves it by claiming people have no freewill...

  • I am trying to understand this... now you are saying that since God's will is that people stop sinning we must have a free will. I agree God wants us to stop sinning. But are you saying that we have a free will in the Greek philosophical sense? Like, can we do things that are against our nature? Help me understand what you are saying...

  • @openairpreacher Your syllogism is invalid. That God's will is that people stop sinning cannot come to the conclusion that man has a free will to stop. 2nd you make a false statement about the teachings in Calvinism in order to further establish an invalid conclusion. As to the 1st point, God has made it clear through the testiment of his word through history, that the natural will of man is to drink up iniquity like water, but is in fact, by its own will, preferential towards sin.

  • when will calvinists realize that a WORD appearing isn't necessary for the IDEA to be communicated. I can communicate to my wife that I love her without telling her. Does that mean I don't love her? Because the words can't be found? Or because I chose to use a lot of other words to say it?

Such as "You're beautiful." "Thank you so much for everything you do for me, I truly don't deserve you."

Where does the words "I Love You" appear?

    This is a silly non-sequitur..

  • @openairpreacher Fallen man cannot chose good in and of himself. He is a slave to sin, he is blinded by a veil. Man heart continually harbours evil all the time, (gen6) Man's only will is to seek out the desires of his heart. His heart being evil, drives him to please himself. Grace through faith alone, faith comes from hearing, hearing the gospel. The spirit convicts and the person then repents.
