  • 5:21 the death of katsumoto

  • @tskeeve9 Ingnorance is nothing more than a gap of knowledge in need of filling in. So to attack someone based off of knowledge they are not aware of, truely speaks about your character sir.

  • 2:50-4:00 The most beautiful ...

  • I often find myself debating whether it is better to die before defeat or live to fight another day. While I can't ignore the righteousness of fighting till the very end, how are we to know that a greater and more important battle isn't going to happen the day after, and we weren't there to help win it. Your opinion is most welcomed.

  • @9f81rsd00 A critically thinking warrior is never a burden. Honour, tradition and discipline.

  • which is the other track with the flute

  • The song truly speaks to the tragedy of the era.

  • FILMES ASSIM É UMA DÁDIVA...CONTA UM POUCO DA REALIDADE PASSADA...ADORO!

  • damn... this song still gets to me..

  • the way of the voice*

  • @ssjgonas Fus ro dah!

  • This is a very beautiful song and very relaxing. Thanks for posting it.

  • You, have your honor back...Now help me with mine...

  • youtube needs an auto replay button!!

  • MISTRZOSTWO ŚWIATA

  • You're all fat. Amazing score though.

  • This was the part where the Samurai were massacred.

  • This theme. Oh my god. <3

  • WONDERFULL

    Hans Zimmer is the best!

  • you are...

    Ozunu

  • @patrickpowns No... I am Chuck Norris.

  • I listen to this song while playing SHOGUN 2: TOTAL WAR

  • These are the most important words in a samurais life:

    忠誠心、勇気、正義、名誉

If you don't know what it means go Google translate

  • Meiji made 6 accounts

  • from 1.35 is the best part of the song

  • Saigo Takamori would had like this song if he heard it.

ps. Saigo Takamori was the real Last Samurai

  • I love how you think they might make it up the hill and get Omura, until the Gatling guns open fire

  • I'm a samurai (Modern Samurai) WHich means I'm raised in a samurai family, and I have to say this is the most samurai song I've ever heard

  • @SouskeSagara1 If you speak words of truth, I must say I envy you Samurai-san *bows*

  • @SouskeSagara1 ROFL you are an otaku.

  • What a fantastic incredible score this movie had, one of the best ever! Just love the music. This movie is a timeless masterpiece. I know some people who didn't like it and I think they are completely ignorant and foolish not to watch it again to absorb the power of the Last Samurai.

People who didn't like this movie don't like quality films of epicness with a strong historical lesson of the old world vs the new. Tom Cruise's best film hands down for me!!

  • ii, domo arigato gozaimasu.

  • " tell me how he died" "no, i will tell you how he lived"

  • @yesimfromengland I loved that line too.

  • "There is life in every breath" -Katsumoto

  • Six of Meiji's men watched this video

  • The best song ever!

  • six ninjas watched this video

  • @NemanorTheAlmighty ninjas would LIKE this vid, not dislike, they were like the cousins of the samurai, except they lived in the shadows and dared not to reveal their identities. They were sworn to protect their people, to live and die for the people, so I suggest you rewrite your comment

  • @brumbystar NInjas fought back against the samurai. Not all and not every where of course. Nor did the ninja wear all black and cover their faces all the time.

  • @brumbystar Ninjas were mercenaries. They fought for the sole purpose of profit. There was a deep hatred for them amongst the samurai who believed they were cowardly and dishonourable. However there are exceptions but, most ninja were mercenaries.

  • @TheHopelessOtaku you are such an ignorant been a mercenary was one the least asked tasks given to a ninja

  • @kaylercj Oh really? Being hired to assassinate a rival lord or sabotage and enemy army, those are tasks given to ninja. They were also used for intelligence gathering. These are facts. Key word: Hired. They were mercenaries, no matter how you look at it. You should learn some facts before you go around calling people ignorant.

  • @TheHopelessOtaku They were also farmers. After the daimyo's figured out that they couldn't defeat the ninja's, they hired them to be farm around their house and when they were being attacked the ninja's would defend.

  • @AZNboi10921 Ninja were anything and everything. They specialized in unconventional warfare. They were spies and and assasins. They were what they needed to be to complete their missions. Daimyo's hired them for personal gain nothing more nothing less. They realized that ninja were powerful tools that could used against rival daimyo's.

  • @brumbystar I suggest you rewatch the movie =p I was joking about the ninja attack on the village

  • @NemanorTheAlmighty they are 7 now :D

  • AFTER I WATCHED DIS MOVIE IN DA THEATERS I SWEAR I WANTED 2 B A SAMURAI LOLself WENT HOME AND GOT MY PLASTIC BASE BALL BAT AND STRTD DOIN SAMURAI MOVES LMAO..hit myself hard wit da bat ALOT

  • "Tell me how he died"

"I will tell you how he lived"

    Love this movie<3

  • Did you put Cowboys above or on the same level as a Samurai? Have you ever met a Samurai?

  • 6 people were on the OTHER side of the gatling guns.

  • @2RO1588 Hell yea they were

  • And the music....Oh, man! From "Day of Thunder" to this, Hans Zimmer is the best!

  • While the Japanense as a people have a history of cruelty and villiany going back to their roots, I have to say this movie shows a small group of them at their best.

Being a Texan though, I think Cowboys are even better than Samuri in a lot of ways; having met and read about them, I know both groups belive in a lot of the same things(Duty,Honor, etc) but Cowboys and Ranchers take it a whole lot further.

Magnificent Movie about warriors, though. Right up there with The Magnificent Seven.

  • @sackitt16 Cowboys? They were idiots with guns, roflmao.

  • @tony701ai I knew it already, but thanks for the free info anyway.

  • All hail Master Zimmer!

    HAIL!

  • chuck norris made better music with his fart.

but this music is the 2° place

  • 5.55 They Are All Perfect

  • Amazingly Epic!!!

  • the samurais were the only people in the history of the world who cared about honor and justice....

  • @Jonathangrinshpan not actually; the Spanish consumed their whole empire fighting for it. It is actually today when nobody cares about honour.

  • @1111hola loloolool? the spanish murdered and raped every human in south america and central america, raped every women killed every man and stole all their gold....and you are telling me that they have even a little bit of honor?

  • @Jonathangrinshpan you know... if the spanish were insulted they went into war with that country. if any allies of them was attacked, they got themselves into war to defend it, whatever their situation was. and i believe that you dont really know what honor means. The samurais also killed people. Every country on earth has killed people. Did you know the samurais, in the times of the divine wind, practiced anatomy on their prisoners...alive? they cut their bodies to see how good the katana was?

  • @1111hola The Samurai was a way of honor unmatchable by any other culture in history. The respect they had for their people, and their enemies, and the respect given unto them is simply unmatchable. Sure, at one point Spain was committed and honorable, but not like the Samurai. Not like the people of Japan back than. What honorable people they were. And don't act like the Spanish never committed cruelties, every culture had it's cruelties.

  • @hcvideoproductions I didnt say they didnt do any cruelties... but smaurais did too. everyone did. Calling other cultures cruel is just plain dumb.

  • @1111hola I didn't call the spanish cruel. But I'm sorry, the honor of the Samurai outranks any other culture in the history of the world. Theres not much room to argue

  • @hcvideoproductions I wasnt arguing that. I argued that the samurais are not the only ones that cared about honor.

  • @1111hola whatever, this song is from a movie about the samurai, not the spanish, so stop talking about them

  • @hcvideoproductions you continue the discussion. It is obious that I am right.

  • @1111hola Right about what? What are you right about?

  • @hcvideoproductions that the samurais are not the only people in history who cared about honor.

  • @1111hola I never said that, Jonatahngrinshpan said that. I just said that the Samuais honor as unmatched

  • @hcvideoproductions oh ok then. and sorry for the mistake, i thought it was him, as i didnt read the name

  • @Jonathangrinshpan ur forgetting about the spartans and the romans to name a few

  • @Jonathangrinshpan The warrior caste in 'most' societies around the world are known to have held those values in just as high a regard. Educate yourself before making stupidly generalized statements. I bet you don't know about Ksatriyas in India, do you? The Rajput Ksatriyas were fiercely courageous, and would also kill themselves by their own blade rather than surrender a losing battle in order to preserve their honor. Your ignorance is hilariously evident.

  • @tskeeve9 no one cares

  • @tskeeve9 Warrior castes were almost a universal thing for the Middle Ages, like the Knights of Europe and the Mamelukes of Arabia.

  • @tskeeve9 Also, this way they could not give away any information to enemies.

  • @tskeeve9 well said, what did he say again?

  • @tskeeve9 Instead of being a dick you should have just dropped the knowledge bomb, makes you seem more mature.

  • @Jonathangrinshpan hmmm dont know about that what about when the ww2 japanese employed their beliefs system in china?

  • @mmalover1991 The belief system they introduced to Japanese soldiers during ww2 was under the name of "Bushido" but more closely resembled Hitler's "Mein Kampf".

  • @Jonathangrinshpan

bullshit learn history before making stupid comments

  • Hans is THE god of movies' soundtracks !

  • war does not determine who is right war determines who is left.

  • @ferromerocolt44 I see what you did there =3

  • @ferromerocolt44 yup Bertrand Russell is right war does not determine who is right only who is left

  • la vi y la tengo y la verdas me sorprende mucho.

  • The samurai represent what has been unfortunately lost from this world. True warriors to the end. Peace and Honor.

  • @LeonhartX13: Except for when they were massacring civilians, I guess.

    Long live strategic misinformation.

  • makes me wonder.

  • The code of the samurai: Loyalty, Justice, Courage, Honor.

    Respect to them!

  • @FreedomFighter08 Hell yes! :D

  • @FreedomFighter08

you remind me of coach (the dragon slayer) on survivor.

  • @FreedomFighter08 You are missing Benevolence, Rectitude and Respect. :)

  • I heard the Norway shooter was listening to this

  • @SpicyHam he was not listening to this, he was playing call of duty modern warfare 2, map, No Russian, he also used steroids, and took things from games and put it in his manifesto, as a norwegian myself ill tell you this, no norwegian wishes to even talk nor think about that guy

  • @ZarakiOTR i believe you so much!!

  • @ZarakiOTR so you blame video games?

  • @smithy2306 no i do not , i dont put my blame in anything else nor anyone else then the murderer,

  • @ZarakiOTR I don't know who's a bigger coward, Brievik for murdering his own people, or your far left politicians using it to as an excuse to crush all discussion if the immigration issue. Your country's insane, man.

Peace to you in this troubled time. Hope you guys get your stuff together, and embrace your cultural heritage at some point, just as the Japanese did in this - albeit fictional - movie about the importance of what your people are rapidly losing.

  • @Pyramidhead1337 Yes we are insane, but i know 1 thing, as a norwegian, we dont ever give up, we do what we can , we insane, but we do what we can to make everything more peaceful, both here in norway and other countries as helpers, its like 2 sides of norway here, 1 want the immigration things , the other one dont, and also the third side which was breivik, just crushed both sides , but we dont let that get to us, we know we lost alot of people, R.I.P we remember the dead, and forget him!

  • @Pyramidhead1337 Ik we are losing something really important, we are losing our friends and family we are insane, but we do have the strength to stand up , and fight back whatever is coming, we dont abandon our comrades, we fight for them, with them, if something else going to happen we will be ready for it, yes we are insane, it is getting us killed by protecting our own country, personally id wish i could kill Breivik, but i wont go as low as him by killing him, i fight for my country !

  • @Pyramidhead1337 There is no left or right its all run by the same power hungry fucks behind the curtain!!

  • How the hell was there even one, let alone six dislikes? I hate having Tom Cruise on any screen, but this music is beautiful!

  • amazing

  • This sword belongs to whom

The Old ways have met the New

  • This movie shows what a civilization truly is. Many people think that the great civilizations were those that were the most powerful. Sometimes that is true for one only has to look at the Roman and English empires as examples. However, the Japanese civilization (pre-19th century) pervaded every part of their lives. I sometimes wonder what we have lost today in our shallow day to day lives as compared to the lives of the Japanese which seemed to be so purposeful, duty-bound, and honourable.

  • its sad how this part of the movie, is really how life works now. they look diffrent, they speak diffrent, they "PRAY" different. what goes through the minds of idiots when that happens. And its funny, the ones shooting the samurai, were japanese..... i dont know how people do it, and how people think like this, the world now is horrible

  • Awesome track, Hans is a genius

  • 5:22-7:56 is the most saddest part of this epic masterpiece....

  • Let me tell u something, i stayed more than 3 years without ever crying and everytime time i saw this film, i was on the edge of tears ( i don't know if it mean something in english ;) )

One of greatest film ever with GLADIATOR !

  • I wish somebody else played the leading role. Tom Cruise is rather anemic...He can play a warrior in kindergarten, maybe...

  • I've watched this movie AT LEAST 10 times. I'm addicted to it. Feels like it teaches me a lot about life.

  • @RyetheBred Felt the same way, when I watched it several years ago. Wasn't supposed to be all that special...and yet it was. :)

  • @RyetheBred also to say something random....don't eat old/stale grain food especially rye...gives u ergot poisoning....learned that in my plant pathology class. :)

  • this definitly is tom cruises best movie in my opinion.

  • @gertaarz b4 i saw it i was like this is gonna be a total GOOF.

but i had tears in my eyes during the final scene when they all kneel down in respect for the SAMURAI
