  • BumpTopのグーグルの買収は

    単なる嫌がらせ。

  • Does this takes a lot of CPU & RAM?

(i know it depens, it's just to have some numbers, more or less)

  • i use the right wall to hide porn

  • What's your Plan to take over the World. I want to take it over, too. We could be partners

  • What's your plan to take over the world?

  • how do u change the background on a mac???

  • @PathKiller29 Right click, change backround lol

  • bunptop make my netbook slow

  • I can't believe bumptop is gone.... Wy did google buy them out anyways? Just because they felt like it? Jeez, that's stupid!

  • @iTzChALLeNgEd because they want to use their tech. don't be stupid, Google wouldn't buy anybody who wasn't a competitor for nothing. They want to make cool 3D user interfaces, and Bumptop is perfect.

  • ok, google bought youtube, and now, this???

I used bumptop (and have it) and I was randomly reading in the Toronto Star that Bump Technologies was taken over by Google. Now, for a second, I was wondering what "Bump Technologies" was, b ut then I remembered Bumptop, and rushed to my computer to open the Bumptop site. Then I saw what happened.

  • BumpTop is DEAD they sold everything to Google...

  • so i downloaded bumptop, and when i use it, i have two icons labeled as Macintosh HD. when i quit bumptop, it goes back to only one icon labeled Macintosh HD. any suggestions on whats going on?

  • @snoveroli this happened to me again, once while using bumptop it crashed and quit back to the normal Finder, when I opened the app again I only had 1 Mac HD icon..

  • Ok so bumptop is not gong to be available soon and I want to get it, but I am worried that i couldnt be able to uninstall it. Can i? Also would my previous settings like dock arrangement pictures and folders be the same? Thanks!

  • I actually tried bumptop for few months and loved it. Then I began to have the problem that I used all of my 2 Gb of RAM. Bumptop used over 100M of that memory and it slowed down such things as the startup process. But I really recommend this software for anyone with a newer MAC.

  • what recorder do you use ?

  • i found the steam icon at the end look in that black grid

  • Haha, 0:38 "plan to take over world" xD

  • snow leopard and leopard itself...are both full "real unix system" they respect all standard of sector, run on intel architecture, more info on wikipedia...they have also the best sw for multimedia..on linux you dont have nothing professional to make music or video.(no kdenlive, and ardour are not professional at all)

so depends from what you need, also osx is not that simple as people think...it share all functionality of bsd, but most of user dont even know that there is a terminal in osx

  • It looks much much better on a Mac!

  • For your dad: some fancy scotch, a spiffy tie, DVDs, or... A PLASMA TV? Well I know which one I'd want!

  • Comment removed

  • It doesn't look right with expose...

The windows at the edges should be collinear

    I mean, it's a 3D desktop and your expose is... 2D lol

  • If this 3D concept were merged with OS X spaces it'd be a WIN

  • I tried it, pretty cool, but not really my thing :P..

  • か、壁もあるのか。。。(びっくり)

  • I love how every stupid app for mac costs money, even simple things like scanner software people are trying to charge for it.

Then u have linux where everything is free,my linux distro(debian) comes with over 25,000 different pieces of software(all free).

    Linux > all

  • true story.. but not everybody wants to configure their op system from a-z...and not just they dont want to they cant cuz they dumb but they have money...

  • @minina68 or they could just want to AND have the money ;). Those people are good for the economy!

  • @minina68 You mean "they ARE dumb" not "they dumb", right?

  • @drrobertoboogie97 same shit

  • @DerekLun

I love how I don't have to spend an entire day trying to get my wireless card to work.

Besides, most useful and popular Mac apps are in fact freeware. Some of the ones you have to pay for, like Coda, Aperture, and Fontcase, are worth every penny.

  • DerekLun can "Linux > all" without calling other GUIs "stupid". Technology is not stupid AND calling anything stupid makes your analysis seem less knowledgeable. I'm glad you like Linux (as do I, I think open sourced technology is a great concept) but if you make a statement like "every stupid app for mac costs money" you have to be fair because you know that is not true, so its better to say that it's an opinion and clarify that not EVERY app costs.

-this has been a friendly response-Keallei

  • sorry bad comment I know, but after using apple for so many years then switching to linux, its such a refreshing change.I only wish OS X was more like a real *nix os and not a crappy stripped down POS with none of the good stuff.

  • not brilliant but certainly fun; a great way to boast good graphics.

  • I like how near the end they had Windows icons. Kind of dumb, but yay! Finally bumptop for mac.

  • i really like the concept!

it works like a charm, and if i show this to my parents eg. they will LOVE it because it's like they think file/desktop management should be on a computer..

    BUT

imagine something breaks in the apps preferences or cache or whatever. basically EVERYthing just sits there in /Users/XY/Desktop... unsorted. this would be an insane mess.

    this implemented with finder/folder-structure ... no1.

  • Tried it months ago. Found it less productive than my solar-powered Casio watch.

  • ANYWAY CHILDREN back to the subject of the video - Bumptop is wicked!

  • for me it's a very good solution..!not only for graphics but for having multiple desktop to use, like linux. windows it's very bad in improvements...!! 7 it's = to win95 in graphics..!!!!AERO it's more useless..!!

  • WHAT IS THE BEST MOVIEMAKER FOR APPLE iMAC????

  • imovie for beginners etc

    or final cut express

  • Yeah, it's a sort of cool "proof of concept" but it doesn't look like an efficient way to organize and access data. It's also ridiculously gimicky! (And the 2D dock sticking out at the bottom looks hilarious!)

  • BumpTop does not use your desktop native resolution so your desktop, wallpaper, icons, and the entire Bumptop GUI looks like CRAP.

  • Oh, nice. Now I can make my computer desktop as messed as my real life desktop!

You know what, I prefer the Ubuntu Netbook Remix approach, which goes the exact opposite way of this: they got rid of the desktop metaphor entirely. The screen is a panel, an appliance, not a desktop.

  • xD, yes thats exactly what i thought =P

  • make your digital desktop into a real life desktop like in your office. soon it will become a papery shitty mess and disorganised from moving stuff around and thinking, i'll do that later.

  • Talk about completely useless...

    "Productive"? Oh, please.

  • This looks cool and all, but the whole point of using a computer is to make things easier to use, this looks like will waste a lot of time.

  • This is RIDICULOUS.

I use a PC to be more productive instead of arranging it all myself. You dinkus, this sucks.

  • 1. STFU. 2. This JUST CAME TO THE MAC and was on the PC for AGES. 3. Mac > PC. Any day.

  • @thedaulex

    3. cool OPINION bro

  • @VickyBit: Meh, I see the opinion pun. At the end of the day, to each, his own.

  • too much memory??

  • watch?v=aBbQ5nkz1ho

  • iv had this since like a year for pc :s

  • @podge1671

    I commend your grammar!

  • get some friends

  • This reminds me of depictions of people working in confining and depressing cubicles.

FAIL...instead of making your work space more pleasing you make it look like a prison cell.

All that gray is so life-draining.

  • I SECOND THAT !

  • Yes, Command & Conquer on your desktop!

"Your word documents are under attack"

  • GIMMICK!!!

How the fuck is this more productive?? This is way less productive if anything.... Give me a break.

  • Thats the frist thing I though when I first downloaded it. But now I can't go back to my old desktop and i've been using it for almost a year. It makes it much easier to find things, hide things, etc.

You have to use it for sometime to see how productive it is.

  • Steal of an Linux idea and it's just looks like a mess

  • Wow Mac made a smart decision to take a Linux Idea :P

  • looks unnecessary memory intensive

  • i had it for my dell, uses soo much memory. could be useful for some but or me it was useless. i thot ooh cool, i want it, then i used it and saw how much memory it used, then i stopped having it runnig. then i deleted it, and don't miss it.

  • I just got it then, and it's great! Not even laggy or anything :D

  • I want a Mac!

  • its for windows.

  • I don't know about you guys but i tend to be more productive when i have less shit cluttering up my desktop. I need to get off my ass and file that shit somewhere instead of finding a way to make it look like a lazy slob co-workers desk. Why stop there and let us add unwatered plants and thinkgeek toys to the desktop. :P

  • I LURVE W1ndosss iz lik3 teh best3st EVAAAR11!!!1!11oneoneoneone!!!111 m@C sucks C@CK

  • These fanboy wars are lame. All you say is "X operating system is gay like your mom harharhar". At least make a valid reason why you believe so. Let me start you off.

Linux: fast, reliable, secure, but not many commercial apps and somewhat hard to use for average Joes

Mac: fast, reliable, secure, supports many commerial apps, and easy to se, but extremely expensive

Windows: slow, clunky, insecure, unreliable, but is most commonly used and has the most commercial apps for it.

  • @CompsciWiz:

Windows is only slow, clunky, insecure, or unreliable, depending on the computer's specifications. While an old 2002 desktop would match your description of Windows, my 2009 Dell Studio XPS 13 ($1200) runs Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit perfectly with no problems. Heck, I can even play games such as Left 4 Dead 2 - and this is a laptop I'm using.

  • Faster hardware is not going to make your computer securer it just makes you being hacked faster than ever!!

  • @nationaltaekido:

Nope. That doesn't even make sense. If anything, it'll make you get hacked slower... But if you want to make your Windows computer more secure, you should get a security suite. You can buy some such as ESET or BitDefender, or you can get free, award-winning antiviruses and antispyware programs for free on the internet (IE. AVG Free).

A Mac is just as vulnerable to viruses as Windows is.

  • MAC enables a system to adequately defend itself and offers critical support for application security by protecting against the tampering with, and bypassing of, secured applications. MAC provides strong separation of applications that permits the safe execution of untrustworthy applications. Its ability to limit the privileges associated with executing processes limits the scope of potential damage that can result from the exploitation of vulnerabilities in applications and system services.

  • ms Dos, Xp, win98, win2000, winNT, Windows Me, windows Vista, Windows 7 .... Keep wasting your money on Microsoft. LOL one day they mau get it right.

  • God, why is it whenever I come to a mac video it's a fan boy war. Funny thing is, none of the comments are even witty enough to have a convincing argument.

  • I hope someone useing this isn't useing any demanding things on there computer (i,e VIDEOGAMES). Cause wouldn't this take up alot of resources? Only way I see it wouldn't if you had a QUAD Cpu and a HIgh end video card and LOTs of space...I

  • sounds like Bum instead of Bump - who names these tacky 'inovations' anyway?

  • windows is better

  • agreed this is just a toy

  • you obviously cant afford a mac.

  • lol who the fuck is stupid enough to wanna use this shit... you wonder why your macbook is slow maybe you should consider removing all this gay GUI crap

  • It looks all great and stuff, but I wonder if it will catch on. Especially for people who use there computers not primarily for dicking around.

  • Bumpto plags your computer to shit

  • mac just suck

    :D lamo

  • macs, they plain suck

  • Nah, I'm pretty sure God's grammar is at a grade 4 level, at least.

  • i dont own a mac.. but thats pretty sick!

  • Thats been on windows forever

  • You can also use the back wall too for that extra hidden area. You can then access the back wall when on the non-3D wall viewing mode.

  • whats wrong with a normal desktop

  • ...because some people just can't get enough of that stifling cube-farm experience.

  • sick! XD

  • Thats insane!

  • Worth a try...

  • nice.. hopeijk they make even one for windows

  • Windows will never be that ceative lol...

Perhaps Linux will get a plugin fr this.

  • it was 1st available for windows dude ;)

  • This is already on windows.

    Windows 7 is so awesome

  • windows 7 is gay as your homo dad!

  • HAHA your so funny fucker

I bet you are one of those losers who masturbates to his mac everyday.

Windows 7 kills linux and OSX so suck it like you usually do loser

  • yeah? proof?

  • At first; Windows sucks

Second; the Windows version of this is not made by Microsoft.

  • @jeroeniskoning Without windows you gay mac boy fans doesnt even had a mac so go fuck your self :D

  • @privacyyyyy

Sorry, but im not a Mac fan, Im a Linux fan.

    Almost the same though.

  • HAHA so true :)

    GO WINDOWS

  • @jeroeniskoning

    AT first

Explain how please because unless youve experienced 7 don't trash windows

Second; I never siad it was made on windows, I said it was available FIRST on windows

    Please read before commenting :)

  • I experience Windows 7 for my games. Other than that nothing is worth to pay for it...

  • @jeroeniskoning but the free version is worth playing with

  • This app is a good excuse to make my desktop as cluttered and messy as my real life desk....lol...its definately a cool app though...

  • Coooool!

  • i don't really care about who copied who... but... didn't windows or linux have this first? so who is actually copying who?

  • @feerof Not Windows but one the many Linux versions had it first....very nice made OSX version. Its the first step on 3D Destop on the Mac.

  • i am GOD incarnatedd

  • looks pretty cool!

  • Well Done Andy. Mera Bharat Mahaan!

  • fuck i have to go to the toilet brb

  • LOL..... THANX for telling me... It really means a lot to me.. hahahahaha :D :D :D

thanx for bringing 5 minutes of laughter in my life :p ;)

i hope you enjoyed your visit to toilet..!! ;)

  • back yet?

  • Apple have patented a very close version of this. I wonder if combined with head tracking and some interface 'feel' refinements that this will eventually be the future of the desktop (Look up 'head tracking wii').

  • looks gimmicky to me .. .

  • OK, I will give it a chance, from the video it looks sweet

  • I have it on mine and i love it

  • I beta tested it on winblows, entry level vista machine is fail

But Now I have a new mac it works quite well.

I'd be interested to see where they take this.

But I don't have much on my mac's desktop (given its a week old)

So my back wall is just done like a real wall at home with some photos of the gf.

Tho I do hear rumours about facebook intergration, (browse fbook from the bumptop dekstop)

I miss hitting the desktop for a quick shortcut to finder tho

  • @AngeloProduction Lol, someone's in a bad mood. :P

  • not really. if you've used it for over weeks you'll get sick of it and return to your old desktop. that's a promise. :)

  • Looks groovy!
