  • The question is: who is the baby? Also, who is the father? LOL

  • @stormxjp The game sort of implies that the father is Alucard and the baby is Trevor Belmont from Castlevania III. Many Castlevania fans are extremely uncomfortable with that claim, and believe that it is why this game was cut from the main continuity by Koji Igarashi.

  • @abgaxel e game was not cut after all, and the fact that Alucard being the father is just a hipotesis for fans.

  • @abgaxel It would have been easy for him to just say that the father wasn't Alucard. I think he just didn't want a female Belmont.

  • I wish someone could remake this entire game.

  • Alucard looks like...............a Knight

  • What the hell?! Alucard was there back then?

  • these story lines are long

  • Alucard: Ooww!

  • @CptnGordon he sounds like an old man when he said that.... XD

  • @arikado12 Kinda ruins the mood, doesn't it? I mean maybe a "Gyhaagh" or a "Urrgh" would have more impact.

Well, I suppose he could have said "Grrr-bah!" or "FUNGAAH" or something Engrishy like that...

  • @CptnGordon he could have said this.....

Alucard: "gaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! damn you sonia! why won't you listen to me?"

Sonia: ............wth do you think you are?! -slaps alucard-

    XD

  • Because of the information shown, [in my opinion,] this game only ends up as a non-canon story because of CV:LoD events.

  • @pothb I've heard that one, though I'm not actually certain where the "Trevor is the first to beat Dracula" line even came from. The CV3 ending simply says, "After this fight the Belmont name shall be honored by all people." I find it a lot more of a fluid transition between sequels than Curse of Darkness, which claims nothing got better after CV3, but luckily Dracula's ex-servant cleaned up the mess while Trevor was off continuing the Belmont line with Sypha. (What a great night for a curse!)

  • Did Sonia is granddaughter of Leon ?

  • According to Konami, Sonia does not exist in the time line. She was originally the first Belmont, but they chose to remove her and create Leon instead.

If Sonia did exist in the time line, there are about 350 years between Leon and her, so there would be way more than few generations between them.

  • @abgaxel Correct me if Im wrong isnt Sonias child a love child of Alucard. That could be the reason why Konami got rid of her, but if thats true about her child they couldve worked around it and still have her in the timeline.

P.S. like Konami couldve had Sonia married a normal man, and no love child of Alucard.

  • It's sort of implied that the child is Trevor Belmont from Castlevania 3 and is Alucard's son, though no source states so explicitly.

As to why she was removed completely without a second thought is the subject of many rumors. The most common seems to be that Koji Igarashi simply decided that there could be no female vampire hunting whip cracking Belmonts, and so by those rules she simply could not have existed. Apparently, the Vampire Killer only works if your genitals are on the outside.

  • Thinks for the info.

  • yeah, i've read the interview where he said he didn't think women made convincing heroes.

Also, he apparently changed his mind in recent years, and released Order of Ecclessia as a sort of apology.

    I wish he'd un-retcon 'Legends' though.

  • @abgaxel yeah i don't understand why the timeline was edited, they could have kept her and leon on the same timeline... i wonder if there will be any mention of leon in this new lords of shadow with "gabrial", or how dracula would fit in with this as it seems to happen before mathias's birth.

  • @toptenmaterial From what I've seen and read, Lords of Shadow will be its own self-contained story with no real canon association with the rest of the series. To quote the producer, Dave Cox:

"No, IGA is not involved in this title. We wanted to make a clean break, do a new game, to appeal to new fans. At the same time we've got homages, and nods and winks to the original classic series, [...] but this is a unique game in the series."

A brief mention might be possible, but is unlikely.

  • How do you play it in Color ? i played it before but now it's only black/white ?

  • The game only works in color with the enhancements on the Super Gameboy accessory for the Super Nintendo. Future gameboy players and devices didn't support the Super Gameboy features and colors, because many of them used the Super Nintendo hardware directly, making them difficult or expensive to add. Not many games used the enhancements anyways, and most of them are pretty rare (like this game), so it wasn't much of a concern for Nintendo to bother.

  • And if you're using an emulator, most of them don't detect if a game supports Super Gameboy enhancements, so you have to turn them on in the options.

  • what kind of weirdo says a female character on a gameboy game is hot go outside and socialize once in awhile

  • Thank you, I love this game

  • Thanks. This may not be the greatest game of all time, but it has a very special place in my heart.

  • hahahaha i have this castlevania in mi pc

  • i like sonia belmont shes hot:)

  • how did you get the side bg on the game?

  • The game supports Super Gameboy (an accessory for the Super Nintendo that let's you play old Gameboy games on your TV) bonus features, like special borders and dynamic color palettes.

Since I do most of my recordings off the original games, and not emulators, it was easier to put the game in my Super Nintendo, instead of trying to record my Gameboy.

I think most emulators let you turn on the borders, but there aren't many games that have them, and you have to tell the emulator to check.

  • oh i see and yeah i remember the super gameboy i never got one but i did get the gameboy player for the gamecube, you can change borders on it too, it also lets you play old gameboy game, gamboy color and gameboy advance games, i wish there was a way to put DS games in you tv now, i'm sure it would sell and people would use it

  • So very Vampire Hunter D (1985, ofcourse).
