This same thing happens to me once in a while but it's easy to fix I just turned my iPad 2 all the way off for 5-10 min and Walsh it ws fixed

I had similar problem in my ipad2 ....

in your case it was only rotation stucked...

but in my case, whole ipad2 system was stuck...was not able to do anything.... i tried all the options to restart it...it didn't work...

Waited for 5-10min, it automatically restarted itself and starting working in normal mode.....

@Haseo272 try going to settings, then under general, under where it says "use side switch to:" even if it already set on "mute", click on "lock rotation" and then back on "mute" and see what happens. I know it sounds random and odd but it worked for me
