I was lucky enough to see these guys on their 2008 reunion tour. A couple of technical difficulties and slower tempos, these guys still delivered STRONG.
No wonder sting had a beef with Stewart...the man is pure genius. When you are an ego-tripper out front with pure drumming genius being created behind you it must be hard to take.
Every time I hit a live version of a Police classic, I'm never disappointed! I've been a fan of this band for 32 years--Copeland a major drumming inspiration. The dude was like the mitochondria of that group..Choice beams fer sure.
@fendergibs I agree as far as chops go they were at there peak right around like when regatta de blanc came out. Thats when they like jammed and showed off chops and stuff. Ghost in the Machine and Synchornicity were more song writing albums.
This isn't Rockpalast 1980. I was there. Andy was wearing a shiny suit and Sting was wearing a Reggatta t shirt. To be honest, this sounds and looks more like '79. In 1980 Sting started weaving a nursery rhyme into this.
YEEAAH!! there is a 3 piece all genious band with a unique style!!! I wish there were more drummers nowadays with Mr.Copeland´s class, syncopation and EGGS!! they 3 are all great!!! but Stewart is amazing here!!!! GREAT VIDEOO!!!!
@larkydozer Yeah, at one point he added in an F instead of an F# into the chord and made it a D minor instead, accidentally, I'm guessing, since the rest of the time he's implying D major.
No, did you really think that uploading a youtube hd file is always real hd material in files up to 2 gig. hihi. funny guy. this file is 500mb. it's a simple upscale export from a digitized old vhs.
youtube created their own HD to offer you a bigger picture with more data, but about 1% of a real hd data stream. even blu-ray is a small excerpt of the original data streams used to shoot or render movies.
Kick ass song!! from Regatta De Blanc. Incredible guitar and drum work!!

One of their best if not their best song. They aren't that great live though except for Stu in my opinion

What a performance!
One of the very few songs that they actually wrote as a group, it should have been played live more often.
