@luizissaox The platform is professionally made and not "hobbyist grade". You are correct that without additional parts and onboard intelligence, it is a remote controlled vehicle which can be used as a robotic development platform.

Yes, but be sure each channel can handle the current required by TWO motors. For example if one motor requires 40A, and you are using four motors, each channel of a dual channel motor controller will need to be able to provide 80A+. RobotShop offers a selection of wheels, but none as large as the ones used here. We will keep an eye out.

With 4 motors did you use 2 dual esc's? Im very interested in some information about the guts to this thing.

@naterade471 This platform uses 4x NPC brushed gear motors, so you only need a corresponding high current dual DC motor controller. If you are planning to make a medium sized platform such as this, search for RB-Rob-01, 03, 07, 08, 09 on the RobotShop website.
