The curious thing to me... Rush is John Q, Public that has made a living out of sitting on the front porch talking his thoughts with neighbors. Beyond that....Im left scratching my head with all his media attention. At the very least he is much more adept at delivering the news and events of the USA for at least 3 hours a day 5 days a week. Well, I certainly didn't support Obama out of blind adulation. I thought his foreign policy was spot on and a breath of fresh air, and his economic policies were the free market approaches that stepped back from the laissez-faire extremism of the conservative movement.

Excellent video Jack. Lucky for me, I don't allow the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity to tell me what a conservative suppose to act like. I watched both Dr. Paul's speech as well as Rush Limbaugh's speech. Where Dr. Paul was speaking in substance and heard cheers and some jeers, Limbaugh's speech was mind numbing enough for people cheer not realizing why. And that's exactly why the Republicans are in exile. All senses of Intelligence are in the hands people like Limbaugh.

Yes, Jack! I remember Rush from the early 80's. Somewhere, he really sold out .He isn't really addressing the rights or wrongs, just whether Reps are in charge. He doesn't reflect conservatism at all. He doesn't reflect most people anymore either. Both parties are the same, and only Ron Paul is trying to get the American Taxpayer to wake up and see this.

I'm not even sure that conservatism even really means small government anymore. The dictionary says it basicly just means favoring tradition and opposing change. If you shrink the size of government, that's changing it and you're a liberal. That's what the origin of the word is. They wanted to cut taxes yeah but it was the liberal thing to do at the time because the aristocratic conservatives controlled everything and had economic advantages.

I listen to Rush daily, and have not heard him say a word about the Democrats removing E Verify from the stimulus Bill which means stimulus jobs will all go to cheapest illegal labor through politically commected contractors. Yet, he speaks daily about unfair taxes on the rich. We still have 100,000 a month coming here on mostly fraudulent work visas, not a peep from Republican Rush. Democrats want foreign voters and republicans want slave wages- I smell a class war coming soon.

Paul's platform is very attractive even after his defeat in the primary season. I think too many Americans rely on our current scheme of indebtedness and that removing it would make the cure worse than the illness. I am not being a chicken little, I just believe this is why old-fashioned conservatism and Ron Paul have not found mass favor among the American populace (the kind that would a Bush or an Obama).

I disagree whole heartedly. Rep. Paul needs to stay in the party, because the chances of a realistic third option is almost nil; both the Republicans and Democrats will see to that. Change has to be beaten into the Republicans, as the senior people in power have either staked themselves to or been too tainted by the Bush NeoCon legacy. A slow buildup of solid conservative principles by a new group over the next few years is needed to revive conservatism and the GOP.
