we have to many idiots and sheeple in the republican party. I am at the point were I hope the libs win everything for about 10 years. A total defeat and annihilation of the republican party is all that can save the conservative movement.
The Bush style of diplomacy served only to inflate the already zeppelin scale egos of thugs like Admijenad [ sp] and Chavez by catering to their fantasies of power and importance, while simulateneously increasing their popularity in the region via sheer belligernece. Obama notes that Chavez' miltary is 1/600th that of the US and to date has done nothing to further inflate the massive head of creep in Iran. In short, pragmatism trumps Cowboy diplomacy every time.
The curious thing to me... Rush is John Q, Public that has made a living out of sitting on the front porch talking his thoughts with neighbors. Beyond that....Im left scratching my head with all his media attention. At the very least he is much more adept at delivering the news and events of the USA for at least 3 hours a day 5 days a week. At the most, he puts ALL the news services to shame every working day Rush Limbaugh shows up to work.
Well, I certainly didn't support Obama out of blind adulation. I thought his foreign policy was spot on and a breath of fresh air, and his economic policies were the free market approaches that stepped back from the laissez-faire extremism of the conservative movement.
Not sure why you thought Obama's foreign policy was a breath of fresh air, it was and IS identical to Bush's. As for "laissez-fair extremism" from the "conservative movement", can you please give me examples of anything "laissez-faire" ever being implemented under Bush and the Republican congress? The "conservative movement" was simply a big government conservative movement. They just wanted to use government to implement a stronger facist (corpatist) and more religious country.
Yes, I did see it on the Dailly show, but only after I'd made the comaprison of Rush to Jabba the Hut in this post.

Excellent video, the best one I've seen in awhile from you. I feel those of us who see neo-conservatism for what it is need to be extremely vocal during these times. When people eventually search for the alternate of the democrats we need to make sure they seek leaders who are actually different from the Democrats.
and Zav88: Hope is never lost. Hope exists within people not within circumstances. If hope is lost, it's because libertarians aren't confident enough.
I used to be somewhat optimistic about the future of the GOP. That optimism is waning every day...I really don't know what is left for this country. Hope is lost.
SA I wish you were syndicated. Rush Limbaugh is nothing more than a 50,000 watt megaphone cheerleader for Bush's un-conservative spending for the last 8 years. Is their any archives of your radio broadcasts online?
Excellent video Jack. Lucky for me, I don't allow the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity to tell me what a conservative suppose to act like. I watched both Dr. Paul's speech as well as Rush Limbaugh's speech. Where Dr. Paul was speaking in substance and heard cheers and some jeers, Limbaugh's speech was mind numbing enough for people cheer not realizing why. And that's exactly why the Republicans are in exile. All senses of Intelligence are in the hands people like Limbaugh.
Thank you SA for pointing out the hypocrisy of both parties and the fact they are more alike than not. The Repubs left us paloconserv a long time ago Join the Constitution Party and we will gladly take Dr. Paul with us! It is long over do for the Republican Party to go the way of the WHIG PARTY, especially after naming Michael Steele to the RNC that compared white people to Nazis! That would be like comparing the Democrats to Haiti, Zimbabwe!
We should see it surge again in the false conservatives of the future, when society "gets a brain". I wish there were an extant desire for this attainment of a brain. -- *Everyone* has an agenda :) --
All Rush Limbaugh and his kind will do is reinforce the whole Left vs Right mindless paradigm. Ron Paul should be the main voice for the GOP if it wants to revitalize itself. He has ALWAYS STUCK TO PRINCIPLE and also has some appeal to progressives and some liberals especially in terms of ending all unnecessary wars, civil liberties, ending the drug war and so on.
As far as I'm concerned, the C4L just needs to keep growing and spreading their message. We don't need Rush.
Yes, Jack! I remember Rush from the early 80's. Somewhere, he really sold out .He isn't really addressing the rights or wrongs, just whether Reps are in charge. He doesn't reflect conservatism at all. He doesn't reflect most people anymore either. Both parties are the same, and only Ron Paul is trying to get the American Taxpayer to wake up and see this.
There are some of us willing to speak the truth, and I think Rush is nothing more than a paid pol hack for the Reps.
I'm not even sure that conservatism even really means small government anymore. The dictionary says it basicly just means favoring tradition and opposing change. If you shrink the size of government, that's changing it and you're a liberal. That's what the origin of the word is. They wanted to cut taxes yeah but it was the liberal thing to do at the time because the aristocratic conservatives controlled everything and had economic advantages.
Does the depth of Jack Hunter's words come from Jack internally? Or does it come from the all-knowing, all-seeing God who is actively judging and passing sentence on this nation for its sins; past and current? I don't think Jack could stop talking even if he wanted to.
Dude..... did you watch a different speech than I did? Rush did mention that the Republican Party had lost its way due to some forgetting their conservative values. To me, he drew a clear line between being a Republican and a conservative who is a Republican.
I listen to Rush daily, and have not heard him say a word about the Democrats removing E Verify from the stimulus Bill which means stimulus jobs will all go to cheapest illegal labor through politically commected contractors. Yet, he speaks daily about unfair taxes on the rich. We still have 100,000 a month coming here on mostly fraudulent work visas, not a peep from Republican Rush. Democrats want foreign voters and republicans want slave wages- I smell a class war coming soon.
steve is right. i like listening to rush and he does have good principles, he just doesn't always stand up for them, preferring to remain silent when the GOP is pushing for something unconstitutional.
Paul's platform is very attractive even after his defeat in the primary season. I think too many Americans rely on our current scheme of indebtedness and that removing it would make the cure worse than the illness. I am not being a chicken little, I just believe this is why old-fashioned conservatism and Ron Paul have not found mass favor among the American populace (the kind that would a Bush or an Obama).
Good job, Jack. I admit that I like Rush. When he sticks to principle he is good to listen to. When he is partisan is when I find it difficult to tolerate him. The Republicrats have lost anything they once had. It is time to go for real change. Vote Libertarian.
I'm so glad you made this video Jack! We all need to go shout from the rooftops that "RUSH LIMBAUGH DOES NOT REPRESENT ME OR MY PARTY"!!!! Limbaugh is nothing more than a tool for the neocon right. Unfortunetly some cofused conservatives actually buy into his idiotic, one sided, propaganda.
Jack you are right about everything you said about Bush and the Rep party but when are you going to go after Obama???????? Or do you just like deconstructing their adversaries?
I agree with holding people who say they are conservative to high standards and they are to blame for their own demise..
BUT
when are you ever going to use your voice & brain to deconstruct and dismantle the left??
are you?
You know they certainly arent their own worst critics and it seems to be working for them!!
The voice of the "conservative"party: A drug addicted, three-time divorced, perpetually lying blowhole.
Gotta' love those "conservative/Republican values". No wonder the GOP is populated with clueless, immoral, intellectually bankrupt sheep. Their god is the god of overweight ignorance, but their own ignorance won't allow this realization.
Limbaugh is not the voice of the "Conservative Party" because the GOP is no longer a conservative party.
And yes the GOP may have their share of sheep but no more the the Democrats. How many Dems believed Obama's promise to vote against FISA only to see him do a 180 degree flip flop.
How many DEMS believed Obama would end the war only to find a draw down is the best we will get with tens of thousands of troops to remain. Talk about sheep.
they still believe him!! I remember people in my own family who railed against the 'surge in Iraq with a plethora of 'moral' arguments.. NOT A PEEP from them about Chairman BO's surge in Afghanistan. Another relative (by marriage) yesterday told me he thinks Obama will "reduce the size of government to save money" ( WTF?!) when I asked him what he thought about $4 trillion price tag on the commitments thus far, those words "reduce the size of govt to save money" verbatim, Im not kidding you!
The Litmus Test for winning the Republican Pres. nomination .. is supporting Military Intervention .. no anti-war candidate has a chance in attaining nomination for Pres in this Party ... WHY??? because the majority of the Republican Party have come to accept the NEO-CONS foreign policy ... The Republican Party is not the Conservative Party anymore .. it's the War Party ...
everyone's concerned who the party will support. sadly, we don't all agree in every aspect of political view that only presents black or white with no support for the greys. the whole system is in decline that may alter the next electoral process in ways unimagined in these united states. i think it more likely then not that the two party systems due for an overhaul.
You did more in 5 minutes to accurately critique Rush's "speech" than anything the mainstream media, left or right, has done.
Ron Paul does have a failing, though; he actually stays within the Republican party. He needs to leave it behind. As should any who see the wisdom of his words, including SA.
I disagree whole heartedly. Rep. Paul needs to stay in the party, because the chances of a realistic third option is almost nil; both the Republicans and Democrats will see to that. Change has to be beaten into the Republicans, as the senior people in power have either staked themselves to or been too tainted by the Bush NeoCon legacy. A slow buildup of solid conservative principles by a new group over the next few years is needed to revive conservatism and the GOP.
I understand your point of view, but you saw how the GOP treated Rep. Paul during the nomination process - like a joke or a side-show. If he leaves the party now those in the national media and within the party will act as his decision validates that ridicule. He must remain, stay the course, and keep hammering his principles.
I see *your* point of view, but your own argument about how the GOP treated him proves why he must leave. The media only gave him any face time because he was against the war, and the party already ridicules him. Historically, the only time the big two change their platform is when they are scared into doing it by third party success. Staying in the party will merely allow their big government war party trend to continue. He's been there too long already. Time for him to go...and you, too.
See this is the big illusion. The left vs the right. They are all bought and paid for by the same people. What we have here is the people for a one world government vs those who believe in national sovreignty. Bush sr, Clinton, GW and Obama are all one world government oriented and to think it is anything less is the illusion.... How do you feel about your national sovereignty?
Im a liberal and I agree that Dr. Paul is the only hope not only for Conservatives but the Entire nation. You republicans fucked up not choosing him during the primaries. He really would have changed this country.
agreed but what about that poll that was conducted at the convention... he tied with plain at 13% will mitt got more 20% with jindal 1 percentage higher than paul...don't know the exact numbers but it was around those figures.
Well unfortunately to me it is not a popularity contest. Jindal and Romney are neo conservative hacks, and creationists. Ron Paul is a traditional Republican, from when Republicans used to be the good guys.
indeed, however i dont like to call most moderate republicans neocons but I think Jindal might be one and Mitt sounds like one. Ron Paul is a representative of paleo-conservatism ( classical liberalism in academia) that is going extinct. i like Ron Paul and would like to see more true conservatives however, it looks now that true conservatives will fade into the political background.
as the party ( Republican) shifts to the left further paleocons will be left behind...its said though.. really sad. The dems went through this same thing. there used to be lots of conservatives in their party but during the civil rights era their party shifted away from them become more to the left.
However, Paul has carefully pointed out that in acting as an agent of the people he has never defied the original, constitutional principles of American government in order to forward an agenda supporting his own beliefs. For example, he disagrees with abortion and wants to repeal Roe v. Wade. But the reason is because he contends that the constitution does not give the federal government the right to determine the legality of abortion over the states. And if you read it carefully, he's right.
Creationist has the political stigma that people like Romney and Jindal helped implant. It's why you're both right and wrong about Ron Paul being a creationist. Right from a faith prospective, but wrong from a political one. Though I sense you solely meant the faith prospective.
we have to many idiots and sheeple in the republican party. I am at the point were I hope the libs win everything for about 10 years. A total defeat and annihilation of the republican party is all that can save the conservative movement.

The dems went through this same thing. there used to be lots of conservatives in their party but during the civil rights era their party shifted away from them become more to the left.

ron paul is a creationist. But i do agree that romney and jindal are both terrible

How sad a 13 year old seemed more articulate and interesting ( to me ) than Rush Limbaugh.

Brian Thomas (55KRC) and George Noory are the only Conservatives on the radio in my area.
