Always hated how he went from the "Macho Man" to the "Macho King"....it really was a step backwards for his gimmick. He went from being the 3rd biggest star in the business behind Hogan and Flair to a very weak character.

Yeaa, I agree. Not sure what happened. Kinda turned him comical, including his outfit and tights with the stars. He should have kept his pre-King outfit, attire and style and tights with the stars. Particularly the ones when he was a heel where he really had some funky robes and glasses. The cowboy hat also should have never came.

I always hated the "Macho King" gimmick. He was the best in the world for a year in 1988 with the simple tights that had 3 stars on the back, the robe and the glasses.....then the Macho King garbage and those ridiculous outfits - he looked foolish. He was my favorite before he started doing that.
