  • And also, that was FAR from a 'massive explosion' LOL! Although it DID make everybody in the shop jump. I built the engine, and it still runs great.

  • Oh my god, that blue fox Mustang!!! Seriously, you hear a massive explosion, and you stay in the throttle?!  It sucked part of the filter through the engine. I'm sure it was down on some compression after that. Maybe he got lucky.

  • @alphazuluz The owner of the car was the one behind the wheel. It ended up blowing the filter off. It didn't hurt the engine.

  • @alphazuluz I'm the owner of the blue Mustang, and no, it didn't hurt it at all, and I drove it about 75 miles home afterwards. What happened was somebody was talking to me while I was swapping out nitrous jets. I got the nitrous (larger of the two) backwards with the fuel (smaller jet), which created an ultra rich condition, and resulted in the backfire. There's a lesson to be learned, and that's pay attention to WTF you're doing when under the hood.
