@MrArmadillo85 You wanna hear something that will make u go omg again. In 1995 Clare Danes played Beth in Little Women and died then the year after in 1996 she played Juliet and died. In 1996 Leonardo Dicaprio played Romeo and died and in 1997 he played Jack in Titanic and died. In 1996 Kate Winslet played Ophelia and died and in 1997 she played Rose and well Rose died in her sleep as an old woman but it was still Rose so she died. Don't you think that that is something to go OMG at?!
This version is absolutely FANTASTIC. William Shakespeare & Sir Laurence Olivier would be proud. Don't let the fact this this is a 4 hour movie scare you off, as it includes EVERY line of the play, only substituting one word for a modern equivalent and adding one word. The cast is excellent. I highly recommend this movie. My only complaint is that the scene at 0:09 is not in the movie, nor is it available as a deleted scene.
i knew kate winslet was in one of the hamlet movies! sweet and robin williams cant get better than that:) but i have to say, leo dicaprio would make a great hamlet today, only because hamlet is not a young guy in the play. leo would be perfect for the role and with kate by his side, what could go wrong?:)
This was just a fun movie to watch. The intensional over acting is hilarious in a good way. When Kenneth went completely nuts, it the best moments in all of Shakespearean based movies.
@tweety6249 Um because there's possibly people watching the trailer who haven't read the play or saw it and your comment might have spoiled the entire thing for them
@tweety6249 i know rite its crazy but im in 5th grade and my teacher just told me to WHOLE SUMMERY OF IT IT WAS LIKE 8 HRS LONG but any way its a good but
@tweety6249 Well, the whole part of him thinking it was the king which causes Ophelia to go crazy is the tragic part, that's why it's so amazingly good.
I've seen this, the ending was made a bit cheesy. Personally, I am not a big fan of it, partly due to the fact that they uses a late 1700's setting with occational things that are out of its time. but you know, that's just my opinion tho.

you know what its the best performcance of the play i have seen. and i say that because if your expecting it to be a 'movie' based on shakespear then your going to be dissapointed the fact is this movie felt like a multi-million dollar play, well recorded and now available for the small screen.
its great if you need to watch the play, and the performances are strong all around. but if you want an entertaining and easy to sit threw play, watch hte 1996 Romeo and juliet, with DiCaprio.
The trailer sells it like a cheerful family film

Some people compare Shakespeare to Stephen King because of the way they write.
As for me, if I were to compare Shakespeare to any great artist, it would be Steven Spielberg because of their creative imagination. :)

I've been wondering... what the hell is Hamlet doing at 1:20. Claudius suffers from high-pressure ketchup mouth ejaculation ?
TheLuxorek 8 months ago
@TheLuxorek he is forcing Claudius the drink that has poison in it, which kills him
