Marijuana is not any more addictive or dangerous than a lot of things we have had legal and regulated for a long time. Tobacco, Alcohol, Fast Food, ETC.

The historical perspective is moot aaron. The topic is reduced price for those of limited means. The fast and dirty answer is because they are poor. Leave it at that and explain that clinics have long been known to accomodate those of limited means. They did it because it was simply the right thing to do, not because someone told them to or offered subsidy. The compassion that exists among this group is astounding. The world is full of fake do gooders, cannabis people walk the talk.

@maslabud that's a good question, i really don't know , but i might go on a limb here, and say no, due to it still being illegal federally, it still not endorsed by the FDA, i mean damm if those ppl need the medicine help them buy it, i know that not all medical marijuana users are legit, but lets put those ppl aside, and see the many that do, this could be ones mom, dad, sister, etc.

It's so obvious that it should be legal. First of all, of course people that don't need it medically are still going to try and get it. It makes you feel better and is NOT harmful. What is so hard to understand about that? It is YOUR OWN body and you have the right to do whatever you please with it. How is that complicated? Stop ruining lives of people that are not hurting anyone. Stop pushing pills and alcohol and start making sense. Drug war is a waste of time and money.  Legalize.
