  • Huge ass hair lol

  • that game makes me want to go to nursery home fill with babies that are sleeping and fucking scream loololol

  • This song is on Taiko no Tatsujin!

  • Guitar Freaks compared to Guitar Hero: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

  • What song is this? It is epic.

  • wa the song is sakuranbo by otsuka ai(=^.^=)

  • @littlenamii Thanks! I heard it in a Taiko no tatsujin game for the DS, but since it was all in japanese, I didn't knew

  • The problem about GF is the controller, i hate the strum bar =/ The game would be really fun, but i cant strum for shit with that thing,

  • wut is this for?

  • then i tried gf and said "holy shh.." ya..the graphics is kinda funny, but that doesnt matter...when playing, we dont look at them, the notes are our concern ^^..

and i believe playing games with strict grading systems likje gf improves your skills in playing a certain instrument..

    how?

    it sharpens our reflexes...reaction time...and blah3x... ^^

i like gh more...but i believe that gf is the harder game to play...i even get pwned at advanced modes haha (so laugh at me ^^)

  • wat the fuck is this shit

  • This is the game that Guitar Hero basicly ripped off. It was the first Guitar-Based rhythm game.

  • No, there's actually an Aerosmith Guitar game that came before this.

  • Let me guess, did it come out in 1998? I thought not...

  • The game is called Quest for Fame, released in 1995. Check it out.

  • True, but it's as much of a rhythm game, as Wii Music is.

  • @nastyguard007 Im pretty sure they made this game way b4 GH and btw this is different then GH they use modern day songs and GF does anime J/K-Pop songs

  • @ashunxryo Didn't I say that this game came before Guitar Hero? I said that Guitar Hero ripped IT off, not the other way around.

And they use music that's appropriate for the target market. I think J-Pop is more popular in Japan, than 80's American/English rock and metal.

  • @nastyguard007 The guys behind GH, Redoctane, used to make & sell their own Dance pads for DDR games which is made by konami who are the makers of GF. So you could say they stole the idea from GF but made it look better by adding Western Rock music. In business market they are not Ripoffs, they re Innovators But i hate how all praise for gameplay goes to GH Instead of Konami !!!

  • this is what do the guitar hero concept ;D

  • Howe awesome; it's Sakuranbo on GF. I was surprised to see that.

  • What a lot of GH players need to understand about GF is that just because it only has 3 buttons does not mean it is easier. I would love to see GH players try GF and just get raped because they don't know how to keep proper time. Seriously in GH you can be a half note off the entire song and still get full points.

  • lol never did I say that these games were the same. Learn how to read.

  • They are both hard in pretty different ways, i played guitar hero first, but i `ve gotta say its harder to get better or a decent level on gf rather than gh

  • I agree since I play and am good at both

  • lol im a GH player and i got pwned by this game lol

  • this game is easy >.> wtf

  • I think I prefer Guitar Hero

  • WTF

  • is there any morning musume song?

  • wow this is freakin hilarious.

it's amazing how pissed everyone is getting over the whole GH vs. GF argument.

    A. They're just games so get over it.

    B. This video is the first time I have ever seen GF and I have to say that the notes going up would be a difficult transition from playing GH.

    C. The only way to resolve any of these retarded arguments would be for the best players of each game to play the other and see what they thought was harder.

    D. lol at all the arguing retards

  • @turkeyfiesta: Also if people are going to say Guitar Hero ripped off Guitar Freak. How come I never hear people saying Call of Duty ripped off Medal of Honor, or saying every driving/shooting game rip off GTA, or every hack and slash game like God of War, and Ninja Gaiden rip off Devil May cry.

  • yeah and so as the GH/RB songs

  • ...is that when you've become an avid GF player, the colours and notes in the game aren't only part of your conscious thought, they're part of your fkn autonomic nervous system, working in tandem with the unconscious mind.

IE: heart rate, digestion, respiration rate, salivation, perspiration, diameter of the pupils, micturition, sexual arousal and FKN GUITAR FREAKS.

That's why the best GF players always play in full dark mode with 7.0+ speed.

DOES THAT ANSWER YOUR QUESTION PUNK?

  • Futil1ty......add aeriyu with guitarfreaks when searching on youtube. Not the best player around but should give you an idea or two on how hard songs would be. While it looks easy on video(if you can follow with your eyes that is) You should try following with your fingers on the chords and the pick as well. After that try it on the real arcade to find out why GF people prefer GF and can FC TTFAF if they made an effort on doing so(weak effort that is ^_^)

  • yay guitar freaks i fucking hate rip offs white trash guitar hero songs...man they fucking suck.....origional japanese games r the only true fun expirience...man i fucking hate the rip off games

  • I love Sakuranbo :3

  • By the way, for those uninformed:

The latest version of GuitarFreaks was released last month, it's called V5, I think it's the 15th release now... and you can buy GF for the PS2 as well, but the controller is expensive, however you CAN use a GH controller, but it won't work on the extreme songs, which is fine if you're just starting out.

By the way the song in this vid sucks.

  • GuitarFreaks has a learning curve, sadly, most people don't like learning curves! they try it once and say "this game sucks!!"

Harmonix realised this, so they dumbed down GH a LOT when they were copying GF, they made the timing easier, they added a cool 3D look and 3D graphics in the background and gave it 5 buttons and long easy songs, all for attractiveness, and hell.. it worked!!! GH IS HUGE, and that sucks... because GF is the REAL guitar sim game.

  • Look, in the real world no one cares who's the best at Guitar Hero, because GuitarFreaks is harder and more intense.

Proof = GF is designed with an interface that enables our eyes and mind to process information as quick as possible, there are three colours because our eyes only perceive three colours, RED/GREEN/BLUE, it's called trichromacy, look it up.

Furthermore, the screen is 2D and has a very high FPS rate so we can time the note chart with accurate precision.

  • okay you know what makes this game better to play than GH?? this game can be played by three persons- guitar, bass and drums. which makes it so much fun to play.

  • wrong noob

  • wrong noob

  • what is it that I am wrong at please tell me I would like to tell me instead of just calling me a noob.

  • GH is for the musical experience

GF is for the game fun

I like GH because those are the songs I like.

  • yea guitar hero and guitar freaks are alot alike, but heres the main difference... NOTHING!!! They both use guitars they both play songs... Thats it who cares what else they can do? "oh, guitar freaks can play open notes" "oh yeah? guitar hero has five fret buttons" WHO GIVES A FLYING FUCK neither is more advanced than the other, they are both difficult in their own ways so just shut up shut up SHUT UP!!!!

  • whats guitar freaks?

  • google it, its the original guitar simulation game by Konami, came out in the late 90's. Loads of fun, some of the songs are hit and miss to Americans, but imo, it has some great songs as well, and not a bunch of force fed mtf jabber.

But look into it, its fun.

  • Does anyone else other than me Love this song?

  • would you happen to know the name of this particular song? I can't read Kanji

  • sakuranbo

  • ai otsuka sakuranbo

  • guitar hero came out a while after guitar freak. and i do think they used guitar freak as a inspiration not as a insult kind of copying way

  • Man I hate these kins of geeks. They have there guiar hero, then they here about some game thats a little simalar to guitar hero, and just becuase of that they bash the game. If guitar hero was never out these guys would watch this video and say nuthing rude. Yes guitar hero a good game but why the fuck should you compair it to this? Becuase they both use guitars? WHAT AN AMAZING REASON.

  • There's two reasons behind why people say Guitar Hero is better than GuitarFreaks.

    1. They don't like Japan or Japanese Music.

    2. They can't live with the fact that GuitarFreaks is a more advanced game that requires more skill.

The 3 vs 5 button argument is ignorant.

Firstly, GF has "open pick" which means you strum without holding down a string like on a real guitar.

Secondly look at KeyboardMania, KeyboardMania has 30 BUTTONS, does that make it more advanced than GH and GF? Hah.

  • Wow. Go drown yourself.

Explain to me how GF is more "advanced" than GH?

Have you ever even played GH?

GH has 5 buttons, and 1 to 3 note chords. Which means that there are 24 possible variations.

GF only has 3 buttons, and 1 to 3 note chords. That gives GF only 10 variations.

In GH, you can also strum without holding down a string, but you'll lose points because you ALWAYS hold down something when you play guitar. And not to mention hammer on's, pull off's, the whammy bar, sustain notes, etc..

  • I agree GH is better in everyway, but screamatic, actually you don't ALWAYS hold something down when you play real guitar, you can play open notes.

  • And yes, the 3 vs 5 button argument makes perfect sense.

If you use your brain, you'll know that with 5 buttons, it is necessary to shift your entire hand down throughout a GH song. Let's see a GF master do that.

Do yourself a favor and look up "Through the Fire and Flames Expert"

  • Yo, screamatic, I did myself dat favur and lookd up dat GH song..... thru da fire and flamez expert.... ye... some expert... I saw sum 9 yr old kid an he ACED dat song YE?? I tink dat sayz everytink about Guitar Hero if sum 9 yr old brat can ACE de har dest song den dats one pritty shitty game if u ask me HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Grammar: Use it! Learn how to spell while you're at it!

Also, you're talking about Ben. He's almost certainly the only 9 year old kid who can five star ANY of the tougher songs on Expert. I'm pretty sure there are some Japanese kids who can do that. But the thing is, songs like that show how far more advanced GH has become. GF never progressed much, and is basically still stuck on GH1 gameplay.

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

    You're a moron.

  • that just means the kid is really good

I'd like to see you try and beat that song and post a video of yourself doing it

  • Actually, if you use your brain, you can only see 3 base colours, red green and blue, so, when you're only pressing 3 buttons, you can do it a lot faster thanks to the natural visual aid, it's called trichromacy, why don't you go use your brain and look it up?

  • What are you talking about?

The theory of trichromacy only states why humans and other animals can see in color. Human eyes can see radiation with a wavelength of 380 nanometers to 740 nanometers, also known as the visible spectrum of light. The pure spectral colors we see are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. There is no natural visual aid involved. The only reason why it's easier to see the three buttons is because red, green and blue are drastically different colors.

  • sorry about the late reply.

yeah, red green and blue are drastically different colours, core colours, a TV for instance only emits RGB, the mixture of them is what creates the illusory spectrum.

When you've been playing guitarfreaks for a while, (say 6 months +) and a random array of unintelligble notes flow past fast in a song, you somehow process the info without thinking and hit all of them! your fingers just move without conscious thought.

    My only conclusion is that...

  • It took me ONE FUCKING DAY to get used to expert on GH. And I never even played GF before. Have you ever heard of timing windows screamatic? You know.. Those things that judge you based on your accuracy. GH requires hardly any accuracy. GF is strict and has a strict grading system. The 3 vs 5 frets argument is only started by morons who don't know SHIT about music games. You want a difficult game? Check out Beatmania IIDX.

  • I was in a good mood, but now I'm getting more pissed off the more I think about your idiotic blabbing.

    1. Will you ever tap with both hands in GF? No.

    2. Will you ever sustain a note in GF? No.

    3. Will you ever get to whammy in GF? No.

    4. Will you ever pull off or hammer on in GF? No.

    5. Will you ever shift your hand, like in real guitar, in GF? No.

  • 1. Will you ever change your scroll speed to your personal reflexes and liking in GH? No.

    2. Will you ever be ranked for note hitting precision in GH? i.e. Perfect, Great, Good, Poor? No.

    3. Will you ever play in Dark mode, Hidden mode, Sudden mode, [Super]Random mode? No.

    4. Will you ever be awarded with an overall skillpoint, or have your highscores submitted to a daily updated server in Japan? No.

    5. Can you play Guitar Hero in an Arcade, next to random awestruck ppl or hot girls? No.

  • "Can you play Guitar Hero in an Arcade, next to random awestruck ppl or hot girls? No."

Not true anymore, or at least soon.

What was Konami thinking not trying to bring GH/DM over, at least slightly modified to avoid the disaster that was beatmania US?

  • True, Beatmania US is pretty weak compared to the other beatmania titles, but it definately popularized the beatmania series in the US and it came with an improved controller =)

I have no idea what konami was thinking in the GH/GF department, but there's some story about MTV owning the rights to music games in the US back in the 90's or something like that.

  • 6. Will you ever hear a song you haven't heard before in GH? - No!

GF songs are composed by artists hired by konami - bemani division.

With the next release of GF (V5) this year there will be over 500 songs, I think approx 400 are original bemani songs and the rest are licensed songs á là GH ripoff style.

No.

    5. Can you play GH in an Arcade w/ random fun ppl? No - I bet you play it in your basement.

  • 1. Will you ever change your scroll speed to your personal reflexes and liking in GH? No.

  • you know, you're forgeting something. no matter how many successors any thing has, it can never hold a candle to the thing that inspired the original idea. in this case, GH would'nt exist with out GF' paving the way about six or seven years ago.

  • If somebody thought of GF.. wouldn't it be logical that someone else could've made another guitar sim game?

    Everything has to start somewhere..

  • you've got a point.

  • 1. Who cares?

    2. Who cares? That doesn't add ANY difficulty to it AT ALL.

    3. Oh well.

    4. What the hell? That's what makes the game easier.

    5. What the fuck? Now you're comparing GH to real guitar all because you can shift your fingers? Go sodomize yourself. It's people like you that ruin the music game community.

  • Guitar Hero is for white people PERIOD

  • HAHHAHAHA Agreed.

  • then Guitar Hero is for Japanese who think they are white?

  • Nah, it's for the white who already know they are white.

  • I love guitar hero and I am not white

    and...

the worlds greatest GH player is black

  • who would that be?

  • Iamchris4life he was the first to FC TTFAF on expert and he is also recognizedby the Guinness book of world records as the best guitar hero player

  • Chris Vance:

    1. is not black, he just has a darker colour.

    2. is not the best player, he just whored out TTFAF and managed to fullcombo it.

    3. being a good guitar hero player doesn't take much...

  • Oh I didn't know he wasn't black

but guinness world records did name him as worlds best player

they even gave him an award

I think there are some videos on youtube

    check it out

    its pretty awesome

  • guiness have no clue about gaming.

TFFAF isn't even the hardest song to FC.

  • @savethedingosnow guitar freaks is for gay people then :>

  • @savethedingosnow So what's your point? Europeans play Guitar Hero? Do Africans play Guitar Freaks?

    Shut up.

  • These are some weird songs... gotta say that I prefer guitar hero. Plus I have to pay once to play guitar hero

  • You can also get Guitar Freaks (as well as a GF guitar controller) for the PS2.

  • lol retard

  • And you are a very very white person!

  • Guitar Hero is for people who generally suck at every other music game. Play this game and you're guaranteed to fail harder than you can on through the fire and flames.

  • Umm...this is evidence otherwise. Not that you're wrong...I'm just not seeing how.

  • What do you mean by "this?" You mean this song? Uh sorry but there are songs that have a difficulty level of 99. You should check them out.

  • And where might these be?

When I put in Guitar Freaks now, it comes up with what looks like something much, much easier than TTFAT. It looks like you're just playing low, medium, and high notes...and sometimes their combined in some sort of chord fashion.

Guitar Hero is much more challenging...I can say that from just looking at it. Not that that makes Guitar Freaks a bad game...it just doesn't look as fun. It doesn't even really resemble playing a real guitar, like Guitar Hero does.

  • Oh.. just by looking at it. Great observation. You fail. Until you actually play the hardest song in this game I suggest you shut the fuck up. Guitar Hero has a HUGE timing window and a simple grading system whereas Guitar Freaks has a strict and tight timing window and a strict grading system. Oh wait, am I confusing you? A Guitar Hero fangirl like you wouldn't know what they are because Guitar Hero hardly requires any accuracy. Even Beatmania IIDX is much harder than GH will ever be.

  • Why do you think I'm bashing on this game? It just doesn't seem harder.

If YOU bothered to research OR gain any experience, you'd know that GH3 is the only one with the huge timing window. In a way, I can understand that this requires more rhythm and such, but it's really simple gameplay-wise.

Besides that, GH has real, popular songs. I guess you can determine that as a plus on your own.

And the grading system? Doesn't that just encourage getting better at something that's not an instrument?

  • 1. Yeah.. it doesn't SEEM harder.

    2. I already knew that. Not like there's a huge difference anyway.

    3. Since when were the songs in this game not real? Your logic doesn't make any sense. GH doesn't have a single original song (except for maybe "Guitar Hero" in GH1). Nothing but covers or master tracks (which only create very spoiled GH fanboys) of "real" songs. It gets pretty damn boring when you need to sit through 5 minutes of those damn songs playing a very repetitive chart.

    4. NO SHIT.

  • 1. Okay...you know what? It's not about which one is "more challenging". They're both good in their own ways. I'm sorry I started off taking the GH side, but Guitar Hero is a good game.

    2. Oh, there is a HUGE difference. I would know.

    3. GF has original songs, yes, but annoying random solos (similar to TTFAF) and no order. I think the order is what makes a song fun; do you listen to music in your spare time at all or know anything about it?

    4. Good job; you have no life.

  • Says the guy defending a game that caused a shitty community of ignorant HAY LOOK AT ME I CAN PLAY A POPULAR GUITAR GAME WHILE SUCKING AT EVERYTHING ELSE teenagers. Considering I play about 10 different music games, I think I would be listening to music in my spare time. What you said made no sense whatsoever. If by "order" you mean repetitive then I totally agree. Now I'll let you get back to your game that doesn't require as much skill as any other music game Mr. I R PUNK.

  • Um...that's not how it works, and I'm not sure why you think that.

What kind of music would this be?

Wait...you changed your mind on songs being good because they actually have structure?

Alright, thanks. (Haha...I made that like 3 years ago...)

  • this is almost like guitar hero, there's a strum bar.

  • No, guitar hero is almost like this.

  • To the idiot that downvoted this comment, Guitar Hero is a game based on guitar freaks. The only reason they didn't get sued out of existence this time is because Konami doesn't have guitarfreaks licenses in America.

  • Says an ignorant cracker that never even played the game before.

  • haha i played this song too...

  • sakuranbo by otsuka ai ^____~

  • anyone know the title of this song? please...

    thanks in advance

  • that was a cool song.

  • Haha i don't even want to know why cherries were fallon wile they were walking somewere together holding hands haha

  • why not play some real guitar if u play this shit

  • Pretty good. What speed was that? I play on X6 and advanced songs from level 30 - 50. ;D

  • FUCKING WEEABOOS!

  • omg =D

    sakuranbo clip kawai~ *_*v

  • What the Fuck?

  • i love guitarfreaks! cant download the songs the songs though.. T_T

  • Nice speed, I can only go up to 3.5 right now XDD (any more and I'd die from a stroke XPP)

  • Excellent video, just got this for my playstation. You're clearly miles better though.

  • lskbfhksdghfk Now I want to play it because that song is so ADORABLE!!!

  • o_O

    Never heard of that game...

  • It's a Japanese game made my Konami. It has the player using a "guitar" to play/hit notes as they land on a certain key. Think of it was DDR, but intsead of a dance pad there's guitar.

  • awesome game but difficult to find in usa.........

  • I love that game. <3

  • Sakuranbo yeasssssssssssssssssss

  • I wish StepMania could play this...
