Also another point I would like to bring up. In second edition the chaos codex and its supplements were close to 500+ pages of rules. Now this is a frist for this edition so i never expected to get all of choas into one book you can not do it and it will never happen. there is to much Chaos for one book. Then again I doubt there are full rules on all the craftworlds for eldar, I doubt there are full rules for the different marines chapters in the space marine book.

Hey everybody loves iron warriors! Well ure right about the rules. I was gonna make a pimped out iron warrior army filled with basilisks and servo arms but they had to take it away. Have you looked into the 5th ed rules set it changes alot of things. Defiler being alot better and our (chaos) troop choice being the best troops in the game. I agree about lash too even though you have to use it to be playable.

So, i bought an ork army, then a tau army, then a tyranid army, im finding all three of these races much more enjoyable to play then the CSM are now, mainly because i love the options avialable to them, ill still admit my CSM's have the largest army, but they are also the most underplayed

i can see were your coming from with the new codex but i mean im not going to worked up over it just bec they dont got any legions any more. i mean it cuts down the verity of the army with the old codex they wanted it to be like space in a way. but i look at it this way.

i feel this is my point, 4,Iv played this game for nearly 8 years now myself and iv played chaos for about 5 of them. now i respect your opinions on khorne and Iron Warriors but I play iron warriors (no longer thanks to the crappy codex) and i always found them fun but if you diversed them i you could get around what people expected.
Just to throw in my 2 cents here, I fully agree with all points, ESPECIALLY about the themes, one of the reasons I play Warhammer40k is because of all the customization you get to do with the models you paint/create. When I started Chaos,I read through the old and new Codex, I noticed on how mostly everything that made Chaos Chaos (Mutations, the special equipment for each faction, the daemons for each faction)
Which not only limited modelling opportunities a bit, made chaos considerably weaker

One thing I noticed right off the bat was the apparent background change. There wasn't a major background change thats the thing, Chaos Space Marines have always been Emo Pirates for the most part and there is nothing out there stopping people fielding an army that isn't Emo Pirates. The only thing I feel I can agree about on this vid is the daemon Prince becoming cookie cutter, but then I never used a prince.
And I used all my space up, lol. Just gonna mention about the daemons cos they got hit hard too. The Codex isn't Codex: Chaos or Codex: Chaos Daemons, it's Codex: Chaos Space Marines. It shouldn't be about the daemons save the Prince. The solution though if you want to have diverse Daemons is to have Chaos Daemons as allies in Appocolypse or house Rule it, say maybe 1 hq, 1 elite, 1 fast attack and 2 troops from Codex: Daemons just like the Inquisition rules.

Hi there Lanparth. I am a veteran IG and Eldar player and I must agree with you on the new Chaos Codex. While it is playable, it does not have the same flavor of the earlier codex. The trend of GW toward "mellowing" codexes is understandable only from a balance standpoint. I do not understand why they cannot make a codex that is balanced as well as "fluffy" and customizable. By my reckoning, the root of the problem seems to lie in special characters and their past usage though.
this is a completly useless code to any chaos player, because most experianced chaos players loved the creativity, independance and individuality a chaos army gave to the player!! its not about winning as much as its about the history, the options and the storyline.

I like how they got rid of all the specialized khornate weapons. oh sorry, they added 1 weapon, but took away 9 really useful items for my army, and have basically completely destroyed any point in using khorne berserkers other than just a WWI army. they beefed up everyone BUT khorne in terms of new things, the way i see it, and essentially made absolutely no reason to play them.

Now, guess what: no blood frenzy, so they'll just start moving along about as fast as, oh, an ork in mecha armour. the only thing is, now they'll be destroyed 5 times over before they get anywhere. YES, it can. bloodletters have been made into shit. terminator lords and etc. are useless, completely useless, because they can be instant killed again. demon princes are slightly less useful, as they can't have daemon armour. Iron warriors have wasted money on baslisks. better turn 'em back into guardsmen. fucking shitty Emo space pirates. posessed have been severely limited, back to the point of the codex before last. Know what? new chaos codex = OLD marines WITHOUT armory choices. fuck it.
One more thing: 9 obliterators with plasma cannons, a daemon prince (or two, as you stated) with lash of submission, and a vindicator and couple squads of noise marines will fuck over ANYTHING. and worst of all, it's all within the current rule sets. well. i know what i'm doing. and no, not much will withstand this army. deep striking will help a lot as well, with the obliterators.
