@GetFitReedman go for S..it has a dedicated gpu..the z series u must buy some kind of a gay box that have dedicated gpu... oh and the s series is much cheaper, built in optical drive also with magnesium body like the z series..i have the old z series and the new s series..its awesome...

I find that the PowerDock is clearly lacking POWER. They could have fit some beefier graphics in there and also make the bandwidth one-directional so the full 10 Gbps could be used to a external monitor or 5 Gbps when video signal is being returned to the internal lcd.

Amazing computer. I currently own the previous generation Z series and I would love to upgrade but I'm sick of Sony's computers... The noise coming from the vents is so ridiculously loud and noticeable when doing simple tasks like browsing the web. Also, a power media dock is great and all but they under clocked the GPU like previous models so it's pretty much a sub-notebook than a mainstream or desktop replacement. If I were you, just wait until Windows 8 releases and future processors.

i don't understand why ppl don't get the idea about having a media dock, n keep complaining about it gets into the mobility style. The whole point of having it is to equipt the laptop with everything a powerful computer has yet giving an option for mobility, it weight like 1kg, for god sake. why would u wanna carry the dock around the whole time anyway, n u hav an option to choose for optical drive, it doesn't come with Blueray

The media dock is not design to travel with you all the time. It design to stay at home, where you can game at the comfort of your home on a larger monitor. You connect the keyboard + all the stuff you are not going to travel with (backup drive, monitor and your other misc peripheral) to the dock.

@cheongyanbra You should really compare this to the MacBook Air due to its weight and size. It is meant for portability. If you want something more powerful, I suggest using a Desktop or a more powerful laptop. That said, it would be great if they included a more powerful discrete graphics card. It could really become the ideal hybrid device.

@wildreams no...compare it to the series 9. even then...don't. This computer is 2000 dollars. Its does not compare with the MBA at all and its severely pushing it for the series 9. Its like saying "don't buy that mercedes, get the ferrari"...ones 40000 which is the air and ones 200000 which is this. like come on. No one in the right mind will be looking at the air and upgrade to this. Its a severely neiced product...not like the air thats cheap

@wildreams The external battery feels about the weight of a tablet, so I would guess around 400-600 grams. Not too sure of the exact weight though. The Power Media Dock is around the same weight too.
