Caballe is incredible, there is no doubt. But some of the coloratura here is lifeless. The piano high notes are lovely. Still, this is beautiful singing - not interpreting.

It's hard to imagine any other soprano singing this music more beautifully than the incredible Caballe. Her ethereal piano tones, in particular, are incomparable. She is in her element in early Verdi, Donizetti, and Bellini. Also, her recording of the Willow Song from the "other" Otello (by Rossini) is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing this, Edmund.
