I started just wetting my toothbrush in water & putting it in a box of baking soda & brushing my teeth..after a few days I noticed they were getting whiter..I sometimes do it just 3x a week, sometimes now I add toothpaste w/it to make it taste better, but using the baking soda has now made my teeth whiter than ever.

@BlueSkyDaisukiAyumi not really actually.. hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) will simply drop the extra O2 when you brush with it (hence the white foam). leaving you with H2O, which i think your familiar with, and an extra O2... so breathe in that freshy goodness..

shanz0x remember use any advice with caution every product isn't for everyone, baking soda can scratch the enamel of your teeth if you don't dilute it and some people are sensitive to peroxide so test any product by using a little in a small area first the next time you try something new. It will save you the pain you mention, sorry best of luck finding what works for you!

Baking soda can dissolve orthodontic glue. I'd say the other options aren't going to be much friendlier to your braces either. Patience is a virtue. Consult your orthodontist.

Baking soda yes you can use it but it does not make any difference. See whitening process is just a dehydratation of the tooth meaning PH causes water to come outside of the tooth. PH and Carbamide peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide might have antiseptic features but in dentistry is not used as such. If prolonged exposure to hydrogen peroxide it may irritate sensitive oral soft tissues.
