  • If this is an attempt on playing Rosanna,- you're far off dude, but it's great played anyway:))

  • Damn your good

  • this shuffle aint easy man. it took me 3 weeks to master this groove but it was worth while

  • It took me so damn long to master this beat. People think it is easy but no way it is not. It was created by the genius Jeff Porcaro (R.I.P) For those of you who talk rubbish about this attempt, I'd like to see your video attempt. I think Simon Philips groove is RRL RRL between the hates and snare instead of the original RLR RLR Porcaro shuffle.

  • i prefer simon philips version of da shuffle beat

  • And I would prefer to see you play it! Peace out.

  • nice...cool that you lead w/ both hands. Don't let foos hate on you. 5 stars

  • Alright! thanks!

  • what drums are you using

  • Tama

  • Groovy brutha keep it up. Nice sound! You need a band!

  • cool. i can play this shuffle on both hands too :)

  • that was algbra

  • For you it was!

  • badda boom

  • abuee!!!

  • The accoustic of the room you are playing in helped - get that echo sound - witch i love -

however you played into it really nicely

    LOVED IT

  • siccccccccck!

  • very bonham

search youtube "fool in the rain 1" which is a great studio drum track to work with

  • You are right - the room's accoustics helped -

I just played a cable show and had similar sound - loved it - you are cool

  • sounds more like Bohnam.....

  • Oh well thanks!

  • lol, right on about about the groove/feel vs. numbers and math. That made me chuckle. We should be striving to be musicians, not mathematicians.

  • excellent groove

  • great job, but lay back a little on the beat.

  • Purdie was Jeff's biggest influence! Sounds tight but loose perfect! Keep it up man! Toto's one of my all time favs!

  • That was really nice, save for a little dynamic imbalance with the bass it was perfect.

    ~~

  • haha , good;)

  • Not bad, remember with this kind of groove it's all about feel. Take it easy with your right foot it's a little heavy and sit back on the tempo a bit too. Good effort though! I'm sure Jeff would be thrilled that people are still aspiring to his inovations.

  • your good man...your good!

  • Thanks man! Thanks!

  • i like. i especially like the ghosting and fillin in the open spaces. definitely Porcaro and Purdie influenced.

  • Thanks for watchin!

  • your the best but not as good as tony roister jr...heheheh

    e

  • tight. u use remo heads? or evans?

  • Thanks. I use both.

  • amazing =D

  • This is more like the Purdie shuffle.

  • Ok!

  • can you please make a tutorial breaking this down, I'd really like to learn it. please, thanks.

  • i see your snare got no ring to it... that your style?

  • Ya, for that set.

  • you are the best!!

  • Ok!..Thanks!

  • Al Last... A bassist who is a drummer too!! A man after my own heart. No wonder you groove so well.

  • Kick Ass Dude! Post more of your playing.

  • Thanks! Ok!

  • where's the shuffle on the hihat?

  • Well the shuffle is based on the 1 and 3 of the triplet. IF u cant here that then, you need to listen to more swing/jazz/blues.

  • thankyou, at last something worth listening to. you got the feel for drummin.

  • Your welcome! Thanks!

  • Almost, Rosanna... but not quite it.

  • Well...I added my own flare to it!

  • nice feel..

  • Well thank you!

  • good, but not great..

with all those ghosted notes, those snares have to be tigheter

  • You've got some nice technique there! Especially the left hand lead.

I'm a sucker for a good groove. I've been working on alot of samba style grooves recently along with the classic Purdy/Porcaro grooves.

    Nicely done.

  • Thanks! You should post some of your samba grooves.

  • You have a great groove. Nice hits and rythms sense.

  • Thanks. I practice alot.

  • Thats a lovely groove man, I love the ghost notes you put in on the snare sounds bitching. Do another video!!!

  • Well Thank you! I will post another video soon.
