  • thank you for taking the time to post this video! Impeller clean, filter back in business.

  • Thank you so much - I was convinced my filter was hopelessly broken until I saw this. Great help!! And your turtles are adorable :)

  • good Vid shame it didn't work on my U2 Fluvals aren't as good as I thought they were.

  • good

  • Also, Turtle's do better in tanks where they can hop out of the water to dry off their shells and bask in UVB/UVA lighting to digest their food properly. I'm sure you've already done the research if you own them, but there are really cheap items you can buy that suction to your tanks glass in order to give them something to climb out of the water to completely dry off.

  • @desaad37 thanks for the concern but i have all that stuff. i would have it setup but i wan't done putting the tank back together.

  • @blackhawkfan1011 awesome! Always nice to see educated reptile owners out there.

  • Next video should be titled, "How to Clean/fix a Dirty ass room!" lol

  • good video man i think the whisper filters do a good job also and are very quiet

  • clean your room not your tank !! xx lol

  • My motor was done for i tried to clean it the way you did and it was gone, it sounded like it wanted to go but the motor itself wasn't really doing anything. So i threw mine out and got a new one. I had it for 3 years so it did it's job. i'm not complaining.

  • Good introduction to cleaning the the U series filter, i've got 3 of the u2's (3 tanks), and now only ever had one where there was actually a full mechanical problem with the motor itself. Even with the impeller from a known working filter it laboured horrendously to produce any flow, turned out had to return that one, but otherwise all others have been fine.

  • man u just saved me 100 bucks thanks lol

  • HECK YEA IT HELPED

  • nice video bro

  • Good tutorial, just to add some advice to people using this filter in a tropical aquarium. Be careful when using water from the tap to clean the pump. Some areas/countries have poor quality water so the best approach would be to remove some water from your tank and rinse the parts in that water.

  • Great video, very helpful, thank you

  • You just saved me some money. Thanks man, I just thought that my fluval u2 had burnt out, and was going to throw it away until I can across your video. I wish I had saved the instructions from when I bought it.

  • @jalbm222 haha np, im lucky that when i took it apart i wouldn't break it because honestly i didn't know if it was supposed to come off the first time i did it.

  • Five stars, but I am aquarist.

  • Cute aquarium. I can't put fake plants in my tank or my turtles would try to eat it. LoL. They liked gnawing on the basking platform I used to have. Anyways, thanks for reminding us about cleaning the motor part of the filter. I just got this filter a couple days ago (what my latest turtle video is about). It's the best filter EVER! I have to get used to the silence of it. Hehe.

  • @nerice6 haha mine started eating their dock too a while ago so i got a corner dock... its plastic and they haven't found a way of eating it yet.

  • Thanks alot for that. I see it as a fix cause your advising it needs cleaned as well!! It worked a treat for me!!

  • thx for the help on that, btw nice aquarium, ur turtles look very happy

  • You should do this with any internal filter , the impeller will get dirt stuck to it and slow the flow rate down if you dont ..this is just cleaning , not fixing ..

  • @BIGGESTxxEMINEMxxFAN actually it is fixing it, im pretty sure i said if the motor gets jammed...

  • @blackhawkfan1011

you didnt do anything to the motor , the part you took apart was the impeller .. like my comment said ..

and no its not fixing anything , its cleaning ..

  • @BIGGESTxxEMINEMxxFAN whatever dude i see you have to get your way all the time

  • @blackhawkfan1011

Ok,whatever sorry for tryting to help out ...

    Your right , im wrong

  • Hey thank you for this video, I always clean my filter, but never took that rotor of, just out to clean, but never removed the blue part (hope you know what I mean) ,so thank you! :)

and yes, your tank is nice, only maybe I would put a little bit less water, for turtle to be able to come out to ther deck and take some warm light - but just a sugestion :)

  • @solzica82 yah ive got a heat and UVB bulb but since i was in the process of cleaning out their tank i took out the dock and the lights. thanks for the advice though!

  • Tanks Looks Good,Great Info On Clean/Fix Filter,Watching Your Video Reminds Me I Got To Clean My Room,Thumbs Up

  • @MrReptileSmile haha

  • nice! i love the current that the fluval gves!

  • @ClassyTurtles i know it sends the turtles into the side of the tank when its on the top or bottem setting!
