im sorry but this just doesnt compare to the Dusty Springfield version. he has a good voice yes. but he's singing so fast through this song it gives a sort of disingenuous feel to the song. it's like when this was recorded he was singing through this shit fast so he could get off the camera ASAP. lol

I first heard the Sting version, which was very good. I loved the song and found various versions, (Montreal Jazz Quartet, Dusty Springfield, etc...) but it is the original which is best. The original, unadorned rhythm and unpretentious delivery gives it a "wheel" like impulse which is, well, the whole idea behind the song.
