I wish something like this event would take place in the states. I still havent found ANY larp groups near me, cept these guys that practice it in a public park every sunday morning...i like to sleep in sunday mornings XD

The Conquest of Mythodea, und the Drachenfest are the two big LARPConventions with more than 3000 Peoples here in germany. Come here an have a look, i think youre like it :-)

Everytime I watch this video. I get frustrated how this never took place. I guess a large larp fest like this will never happen in the states.

I know if I could I would definately love to try a larp fest here in the NEw England area. Since there are alot of larps here. Now getting Alliance and NERO near eachother without a shoving match. Then I think this woudl work out. We need to have a committee. With peopel from each group to represent. To work things out. I think it could work. If people actually tried.

it is basically the same game but changed just a bit to meet NERO safety standards

I thought Conquest was it's own group. It's NERO?

It's not NERO. Conquest is a LARP from Europe. Joe, the owner of NERO wanted ot have an American chapter of it. The took the rules and changed them to somewhat meet NERO rules. Needless to say there were a lot of problems that popped up with holes in the rules and contradictions. Sadly a month before the even it was cancled for some reason or another. No word as to if they are going to try to redo it. Personally shot my vacation time on something that didn't happen. Now I just do KHAOS.

It happens. I guess the dream was a LOT bigger then what they thought. I mean a large event of 50 people is a load in itself. They were expecting close to 2000.

And to do it for a week straight, takes a butt ton of planning.

Same whne it came to trying to bring Kingship to the states. Too much red tape and honestly not enough LArp groups I could talk to at the time.

It was more then that. The rules were a mess at best. A lot of questions about them went unanswerd for a good long time. There were whispers that some of the NERO players were going to get an advantage over non nero players. There were not enough venders and some of those advertised didn't even know about the event. In short, there was little to no planning or support from those hosting it. It looked all wonderful on the outside but upon a deeper look it was just a shell concept.

It's one of those things that take time to plan. Get the rules all set up and everything else. It's not one of those things you wanna try at the last minute. I knwo I would to love to try. But not if what happened to Conquest happens to me.. I guess it really depends on how much work is put into actually having this happen.
