  • Wouldent it be easier to squeeze those 48 horse power in to a tractor:P

  • imagine how expensive the harnesses were for allllll of them?! WOW.!

Didn't even know this was possible! I love it!

  • God, it would take all day just to get all their harnesses on. And what if one all of a sudden decided to act up? Lol

  • are these amish?

  • No to be rude, but are the disk that heavy that they need that many horses? It stunning really to see so many at one point lol =D,

  • imaging unhitching them all

  • Glad I don't get stuck with THAT feed bill.

  • !W-O-W!

  • my dad bought a team from his amish friends that are pullin in the video. one of them is front row.

  • 48 horsepower tractor in the old days

  • tha,s what i call 48 horse power

  • niech się kurwa sami zaprzęgną i ciągają te żelastwo po polu

  • If any of those horses starts to panic, all hell breaks loose!

  • my question is how they found so many horses of that specific color.

  • @Thehorselover32 Belgians are all around the same color, its called Sorrel they can be light sorrel sorrel and red sorrel.

  • not one of the horses were working at all.

  • wow wow wow. All of those horses must really love one another. Good pairing up on the owners part. :) Not one mishap

  • Man, I wouldn't want to be near them if the horses suddenly decided to bolt... It would be like a 1 000 000 000 pound deathmaskin...

  • is this the Sparrow family?

  • wow thats crazyyy cool!

  • now how much could they pull... all 48 of them!??!! lol

  • Imagine what a huge impact to global warming we could make by going to back to TRUE horsepower. We have 4 teams, that LOVE to pull. We can barely keep them from dancing into a field when they see a rig. These guys are born for this, its as natural as a blood hound tracking a scent. Without working, they don't live a full life. Our 'babies' are well pampered after heavy pulls with massages and treats. They get more massages in a month then I have had my whole life. lol <3 from TX

  • @Dixiesweetiemomma ahh thank you can you put this in all caps and post it every 10 seconds... anyone who watches a pull can tell the LOVE to pull!

  • It would suck if they went outta control, they would be unstopable!! :D That's So awesom tho!!

  • could you image how long it would take to harness and de harness all those horses omg:(

  • That's a lot of beautiful Belgian butt! Love the Amish too! They raise THE best draft horses...i outta know, i ve got a straplingly beautiful amish bred belgian!

  • wow!

  • Whow needs a tractor when you've got horses! lol

  • how long did it take to hitch all of them?!

  • lol all this vid needs is star wars music lol it looks like the horses are martching

  • thats what i call horse power

  • And the point of this is........???

  • Really cool... but can you imagine if they spooked and panicked? Good god, you'd never stop them :(

  • thats a shit load of horse shoes

  • shit i have trouble drivin four!

  • they would be hell of of a lota trouble if one horse started to play up.,....plus how many horses would get hurt if that happerned

  • shit its like a scene off of Spirit. Only the train's missing

  • they shouldve tried to see how much they pull all together

  • Nice video....but....why aren't the disk's in the ground ????

  • Imagine if they all spooked at something O_o

  • Can you say 'horse power?' lol

  • only 48 horsepower :(

  • how wide do you think they have to turn? or.. can they turn at all??? lol

  • @merryoxox They managed to turn the rig around and bring it back. Granted, they *did* have a 40 acre field...

  • lol they all look so similar!!! i wouldnt be able to remember all of their names ;)

  • Man how did they get a harness that was big enhgh for all of them

  • each horse is harnessed seperately, the traces between them are just to link each individual horse. I want to know how they got a reins system that works, do they only steer the front ones or something?

  • yaya that is a good qushion I kinda mint taht so thanks

  • if 1 horse loses it they might all go

  • really though its almost easier when you have more than just one horse hitched up... having a team together if one horse tryes to go, the other horse almost acts like a shield. i wouldnt have thought that.. untill i tryed it..

  • wawzer thats amazing

  • wow... thats a whole lotta horsepower

  • wow i wonder how long it took them to get the horses hitched up haha

  • wow! this is amazing!

  • Wow can you imagine if one went mad and it causes chaous with all of them? that is amazing and not something you see eveeryday!!

  • holy shit thats a lot of them! never seen so many hitched! :D

  • how long does it take to hook up all those horses?

  • a runaway with that team would be quite a sight, for sure

  • This doesn't shock me...the railroad used 30-some horses hitched to pull trains..so why not.

  • why in the hell do u need that many?! lol did they form a union where each horse only has to pull five libs? wow cool video

  • Oh my gosh, I wonder how much the harnesses costed! Plus what if they got tangled? Or something went wrong O.O

  • i wonder how long it took to hitch all them up!

  • haha that would suck to set up, especially if it got all tangled up

  • HoLY SH*T!!! ok, so who gets to unHITCH them ??? very anxious moments i'm sure...

  • Its sad to think those horses are owned by the Amish. Most will end up in a slaughter pen in a few years if not sooner.

  • Amish? What makes you think the people are amish?? It was the late 70's before we quit farming with horses, we couldn't afford tractors. And we still have our horses and buggies and carts and we hook them up quite often. And I know several people that today use horses and mules to farm. 0 amish.

  • As I recall, they were Mennonites. Like, they drive pickup trucks, but won't wear shirts with buttons.

(Something that stuck with me was a group of younger bonneted/classically dressed siblings loading up in the crewcab of what appeared to be the older brother, with an anti-Ford Diesel/pro-Dodge Diesel sticker in the back of his window that read, "Don't Stroke It, Ram It!")

  • @AOO08DOYOUHEAR there are still amish in 48 of 50 states. i was born and raised amish the first 16 years of my life

  • @daryl1624 Yeah, I wasn't saying there weren't any amish left, I was just saying you don't have to be amish to farm with horses.

  • @AOO08DOYOUHEAR i gotcha now

  • @daryl1624 RUMSPRINGA WHOOOOO.. (sex drive)

  • update. they closed the slaughter houses.

  • Not every one of em!

Texas is still goin strong with em!

    GRRRRRR

  • @HorseLife369 cus texas loves killin, killin ppl killin horses, just love killin... :-) btw great job on actually using the death penalty..

  • Alot of horses enjoy working, as in these. Many draft horses get excited when its time to work!

  • Obliviously you have no idea about Draft horses. They were breed to pull and most love to do so. A few are ridable, but they have wide chests, MADE for pulling. Belgians are just one of those horses, made for pulling and they are very docile.

  • the point is?

  • what is the point of a 48 horse hitch? It seems dangerous what if one spooks and then like half of them follow, how the hell are u going to stop 48 horses? and then what if on falls omg this just seems like it could be a bit risky

  • I would hate to be the one that has to put all of the harnessess on those drafts!

  • Wow! did they break the record? That is AWESOME!

  • yea the old one was 41 horses

  • talk about horse power!

  • thats wat i call real power.

    i agree with u vvv

    we still use draft horses

    screw tractors =]

  • now that is horse power! If only farmers still used rel horses for work rather then freakin machines :S

  • If they did, you'd starve.

  • veryr doughtful. if anything it would open up jobs. a need for more hands to care for the snimals, the equipment. there would be a need for more ferriers etc.

  • yah cuz i bet if you were a horse u would love to work all day when there is really no need for it anyomre. i dont disagree with horses working or think its abuse or anything but u can get more done in a shorter time with tractors.

  • you would be surprise what horses can enjoy. Many animals lookf orward to work. Herding dogs for example get extremlye xcited when its time to work, just like barrel horses, or roping horses do when its time to work.

  • true but still, not all horses enjoy it, and tractors are very helpfull

  • not everyone can afford a tractor, + tractors put people outa jobs an cause polution to haha lol

  • I've never heard of a draft that didn't love their job, actually.

  • its not that they wouldn't love it, but ive never heard of a horse that would RATHER be pulling or working, then eating or sleeping!

  • @zandra103 border collies are bred for herding, our collie is always herding, anything that comes onto our property, ducks other dogs, us, our poor annoyed horses, we cant get her to stop "working"

  • @BrownLaura8847 it ight help to give her some other 'work' to do, if you haven't done so already. bordercollies are very smart dogs, so most enjoy obiedience very much

  • @rathmiron we just dont give a shit what she does... if shes having fun enjoying life "working" awesome

  • DUDE wat if they all ran at the same tme? that would be wicked FASAASSTQ

  • 48-horse power!

  • Nice video! I know you said something about a world record attempt...did they accomplish it?

  • HOpe they never stampede or get out of control.... but again, they are a cold blooded breed. Awesome to see...

  • what a awesome tape. Just figuring how they managed to pull this off is just mind boogling.

  • Was this just done to say they could do it? It really doesn't seem like it would take that many horses.

    It is cool though.

  • It was an attempt at a world record. But keep in mind that the machines that usually pull a disc like that tend to start out at 70 "horsepower", a mechanical term that still has ties to its equestrian roots. Plus, those horses weren't just dragging a heavy object and scratching the dirt; they were turning that soggy prairie sod over.

  • It'd probably take that many horses to do that all day long and farm acres and acres and acres of land.

  • that is by far the coolest thing i have seen in years!

  • You would NOT want to get run over by that.
