I have watched this many times and commented on the blog too, I go again on the first tide in Sept 08, I do hope you can find the funds to return I am certain you can do this, incredible effort ...best wishes Mark
Incredible stuff Jessica! This is Seth, your former UCSC teammate. I actually now live in France, so you could've stopped by after your swim! Have dabbled in open water over the past few years, but nothing like the channel. Great to see you out there, and congrats on the swim. Will be sure to tell Leslie B. about your video, and hope to see you again in the water one day.
Wow, thanks for writing! How on earth did you find this? That is great you are living in France, I can imagine you are having a great time. I'd love to come back to Europe to do some MUCH shorter open water swims...are there any that you would recommend? Send my regards to Leslie and any other former slugs you are in touch with. Best, Jessica
Hi Jess, I swam that day and our boats observed each other all day. Nine solo's in that day.16 hrs 28 mins later, I made it to Wissant beach.Lots of shoulder surgery a month later. A year later it still feels surreal and very strange day. I love your courage . Regards Collie
Thanks for your comment. Congrats on your crossing. Yes, it still does feel very surreal and I can hardly believe all that happened. An experience of a lifetime, no doubt. Best of luck with your recovery. I am still recovering as well...mentally, physically and emotionally. take care, Jessica
Hi Jessica, I am just at the start of my channel challenge. I hope to do the swim next year. Why do you think it takes a while to recover from the ordeal mentally? Any advice gratefully received. Well done! Ju.
