  • isn't the western forehand an eatern backhand?

  • @Bomberdoom yes :D

  • If u can control a racket with this grip, and have higher tensioned octagonal strings, you are golden as a spin player, if yer a flat player, yer doomed lol ( Jason, age 15, babolat aeropro drive GT, babolat pro hurricane tour strings at 60lbs)----i am deadly with my spins and this grip haha

  • I love my western forehands :)

  • finally I fully understand this different grips!

  • best forehand grip

  • @metallicjohn Worst forehand grip, in my opinion. In my experience, it seems to be much less controllable, versatile, and comfortable than the eastern forehand grip, and almost any other grip...but thats just me...and various ATP members...

  • @bdsnare2012 well, in my game i personally like to put a lot of topspin on every shot because its how i play, i can see how the eastern can have many advantages and i may have been using the eastern if my teacher hadnt' switched me over when i was a young kid

  • @metallicjohn Well, I may have been to harsh, honestly. Its a good grip for the kind of player you describe yourself as, but Im just more into versatility...it seems to give me more power and control. But I can meet you half way with semi-western forehand! Haha!
