They are VAULTS, which are required in most 'wet-states' for coffins to go in the ground. You don't just drop coffins in the ground, they must be contained in a vault. NOW, here's the catch, in MOST states that require vaults, they MUST BE either concrete or aluminum in construction. Since the death rate in the U.S. is about 3.6-million a year, and over half don't require vaults...and the U.S. govt isn't who routinely buys them, the funeral homes do, you do the math...

A Burial Liner, or Grave Liner is an enclosure that is placed over a coffin containing human remains, which is then buried in the ground. The casket serves as the inner enclosure of a deceased person; the liner serves as the outer enclosure. A burial liner serves to protect a casket during burial from being crushed and keeps the casket from being crushed when the heavy equipment that many modern cemeteries use pass over the grave. A liner helps keep the ground over the grave from sinking in.

@claz28 I don't think that is the question here. You are right the liners are made by a company called Vantage, they make plastic coffin liners as well as plastic coffins for families that can't afford an expensive coffin. The question is why are all of these coffin liners stock piled here.

How would they know how many coffins to plan for unless they had some sort of knowledge about the numbers they would need? It is not just having a supply on hand for some hazardous/disastrous accidents, but an excessive supply for a specific incident that needed containment coffin liners. Ahhh socialism takes care of all our needs :)

These "coffins" are not intended to dispose of the victims of a nuclear strike which would be local, but rather a biological attack that will be nation wide. Stay away from the "swine flu" vaccine!

Yeah they would most likely melt during a nuclear attack, but these would contain any spreading of disease of it was biological in nature
