This is a very rare song. The first time I listened to it, I felt that I wanted to fight the people who made bad things against me. I can't be a coward! I have to face them, even if it cost my life and my soul.
My favourite version of this song...done by my international idol Connie Francis. Connie is the No.2 recording singer of all time(next to King Elvis)...She recorded in several languages(5 or 6).Connie's Vaya con Dios sung in French is truly another collector's item.
I'm impressed by Connie's understanding what the movie is about. High Noon is biblical in it's message. Good and evil. Evil is for fools. Good takes courage but has honor. A life without honor is miserable. The gains from evil will never over shadow the gains of an honorable life. To forsake your honor for the treasures of this world is what "selling your soul" is about. Look today at how many would eagerly sell their honor for a few trinkets of gold. All fools. But Connie heard the message.
my mom passed away some years ago.... today i missed her so much and the only thing i know that can connect me back to her are connie francis' songs.... she was her favorite and listening to her songs bring me back the memories of my childhood..... god how i miss her now......
It reminded me of my childhood in the Philippines, listening with my friends in a small transistor radio. One of our favorite singer and song. Thanks You tube for sharing.
Connie always had that gift to make the song into a plea, a strong statement of emotion. She had that certain inflection that set her apart from the rest making it right from the heart. Thanks for posting this.
Those of you who agree with me that Connie SHOULD be in the Rock and Roll hall of Fame,,help me by writing to the foundation and encourage them to induct her,,here is the address...
This song brought around some old memories... haven't heard it in years and I'm not sure I ever heard it by Connie. She was really something in her heyday!
A beautiful rendition of this great song. I would agree that it is a better version than Frankie Laine's or Tex Ritter's versions. Connie is fantastic...
This is my favorite version of this song, over Tex Ritter and Frankie Laine. Connie could never do wrong. She can sing any song & make it hers. She's got the full range of the song, strong vocals when it's needed & then soft as can be. She's one of our world treasures and can sing in so many different languages. Still active today with her friend Neil Sedaka sharing concert billings throughout. She's had so many tragedies and thank god she's still with us, We will always love you Connie!!
bring it back the memories,i heard this song many times before when i was 6 or 7,now im 51,just beautiful memories to hear this song again, high noon by connie francis...thank for posting................................OMY
I cant believe to find this song.. Thanks for posting it! I was just a little girl when my dad was playing this over and over again in his turn table... what a great memory..

Connie Francis could probably record "Surfing Bird" or "They Are Coming To Take Me Away" and make them big hits.
