  • 1:21 Wtf is Freddy Krueger doing in a George Romero movie?!

  • I loved Shawn of the Dead. :]

  • why bother putting a fucking cigarette in a movie when she doest even inhale? thats called a bum puff lol.... LAME

  • This movie suck ass. Could not take that shit ass acting anymore and turn it off 20 min.

  • TooOOgIEEE!

  • I'd like to see Denzel Washington in a zombie movie...

  • This whole movie I was screaming "drop the fucking camera and grab a weapon moron!"...

  • Capt. Matinee STRIKES AGAIN

  • Zombie's Werewolves Vampires Man people use your imanginations and Create new generations monsters and quit feeding off the Past.

  • THIS IS BLOWS DICK, and I did watch it

  • I'm getting off topic here in a way but this is for the zombie worms thing

it pretty much has been done, it's called "slither", well they're technically not zombies but the concept is really all the same really

it's basically a zombie movie except this time it's a parasite that takes over people's minds(if you played HALO it's like the flood or RESISTANCE it's like well the entire chimera, more like the flood though)but that movie wasn't all that good

  • Matinée? Wtf.... BULLSHIT!

  • See reviews right when they come out! Sign up and make your OWN spill movie page at ------> spill.com

  • The ole Dawn of the Dead is the best fuck the rest

  • @HorseTheWorld281 H*ll no.... dawn of the dead 2004 no blue zombies.

  • well I guess it's true there are just too many zombie movies especially when they all pretty much look the same, act the same, and normally ends similar

I mean there normally just psychopathic disease cannibals normally caused by the government or toxic waste and just mindlessly go around killing and eating or infecting random people, military forces then fights back probable lose the battle but may win the war at the end(depends) and a small group of survivors make it out sometimes...the end

  • @KILLSHOCK1100 The thing is, the Zombie genre has juust gotten into the mainstream and while yea there are lots of repetitive zombie flicks, there are plenty of ways to still do them. Its like saying there are too many war movies or too many movies with talking animals. I mean look at The Walking, it was a great series that took a more dramatic look at the apocalypse, using the zombies as more of a catalyst for character development. So hopefully directors start experimenting more with zombies.

  • @KillaTequilla83 well yeah but there isn't much experimenting with zombie in movies

I mean even the ones that did pretty much all like this except some have slight difference

but yeah even animal pop culture reference movie can be very different then other(not to say that some might be similar) for EX: "Kung Fu Panda 2" is very different to "Rango" completely

but even when zombie movies are suppository different they're basically same

we just need more new ideas with them (too similar)

  • @KILLSHOCK1100, actually it's more like this. THere's too many CLASSIC Zombie Films. Back than it's all about surviving, a disease, a group of survivors, and guns shooting everywhere as the audience is scare of zombies with bad clown make up but still good story. Today it's USUALLY about disease, surviving, group of survivors but this time you have to shoot them in the head, the audience bored of the zombie's realistic behavior, way much gore and less story. In the future, it's an empty theater.

  • @TheNorth15 Yeah but either way they all pretty much go this way with very similar plots, settings, elements...there has to be more ways to use zombies rather then just dressing up and update the basic same movies over and over. Some have better stories then other but it's still the basic stuff and similar to basic same theme. Also because of pretty much every zombie movie being the basic same movie they're highly predictable and never really offers something new these days.

  • i luv zombies. Left4Dead is my favorite zombie video game. i have to chect this out!

  • If you think this is bad, watch survival of the dead

  • @metroidrocks01 it was her kid so of course shes freaking out

  • This movie was not about action or being the next big thing it was about what was said in the dialogue and getting people to think.

  • Can some one tell me who the guy in the hat and glasses and long hair please answer

  • @MrChicoplus thats carlyle

  • I would love to see a zombie worm movie....just dont make it turn out like the ruins lol.

  • @redsk4ter

    You mean like Slither?

  • Loved the idea of switching shaking camera perspectives whenever two cameras face each other. I loved the other entries and loved this, a must-see for fans.

  • In a way it felt like REC sometimes

  • cloverfield is shit this is way better

  • I enjoyed this movie as a rental. It's the type of movie where your have to be in the right mood for.

  • so ein beschissen schlechtes ende hab ich noch nie erlebt! also im echten film!!!

  • Here's my order....Dawn,Diary,Day,Land,Night,Survival.

  • @AceProductions91

    Here's mine Night-Dawn-Land-Diary-Day-Survival

I know it's your opinion and all... but really? Night is second to last? after Stephen King's It that's my favorite horror movie and by far the best zombie movie ever made (the girl killing the mom; that still give me the creeps and just to imagine the movie is 50 years old! can you imagine back then) If you like zombie movies you should really check out Braindead AKA Dead alive. Goriest movie ever

  • some of those guys didn't look like zombies to me

  • Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead will live on to be the best! Zombie land was another landmark!

  • @mechagodzilla290 The 28 series is the best

  • @nathanalex40 Although Days and Weeks were good, I think the George Romero trilogy was better. They're classics.

  • George Romero does cast himself sometimes

  • This movie..... really really sucked

  • This Movie Sucked Ass!

  • this movie shouldve been good, i wanted this movie to be good, but sigh no, the new survival of the dead is ok but alittle lame, george i know ur old n all but ur still the king of zombies we need to see more of ur genius.

  • One thing I just do not get about this move is why the fuck would you film the entire time seriously put the damn camera up and run like hell. I know they said they wanted to help people survive but they should be more concerned about thenselves also with Cloverfield why the fuck would you video tape through that situation too jesus leave the city.

  • The found footage was not a Blair witch consept it was in a bunch of others movies before

  • Hated this movie so hardcore. I don't expect good acting from Romero movies, but this one was laughably bad. The characters were tired cliches. The humor missed every time. "Help! I'm about to get eaten." Then you have the main character with "I...must film this. It's...important."

  • I liked it.

  • are all horror movie protagonists intentionally written to be absolutely unlikeable?

  • @southsydney no dawn of the dead peter is really likeable

  • just watched this , terrible props i mean your sitting there saying to yourself "yup thats clearly a fake hand" acting is painful to the point your starting to cring at lines like "it used to be us fighting us now its us fighting them " Girl lead voice over " He was right but in a way they are us" Dear god that was painful. Zombie movie wise its good , you got your gore and jump scares but their too far apart to make it worth seeing. i'd give this a rental just for a zombie movie marathon

  • zombie worms? you mean like slither? been there, it sucked.

You to see something different? Here's an idea. A Zombie comedy that's actually funny. Shawn of the dead sucked. Slither really sucked. Zombieland was close, but not really funny.

  • @Retact Those where alien slugs duh like night of the creeps.

  • @TimeBolt

I said that zombieland wasn't really funny, as in not very funny, not meaning not actually funny. sorry about the grammar snafu.

Quote from slither "you have to get both on them in you to go all wormy" They were worms, your lame!

  • @Retact Zombieland not funny? Your lame.

  • Did anybody notice the camera man at 2:41? LOL

  • if you need help defending youreself from zombies (joke maybe...) come find me or just buy max brooks zombie survival guide its a really good book!!!

  • i like zombie's movies but this is a boring ass movie....

  • @eltriste316 yes i totally agree i luv zombie movies

but this peice of crap was so slow and there was like never more than 2 zombies on screen

ppl want to see hordes of them

  • Incredibly boring. The end was the worst I've seen. Dumb kids walking around like they are in a prom. Deliberately doing stupid things when they know the dead walk. I give up...

  • A somewhat enjoyable take on the zombie genre but its probably Romeros weakest film low mattinee

  • Yeah, I can also agree that the Amish mute guy was the most awesome character in the movie. Ask for the rest.....

Ehh.....George Romero can honestly do better than this.

  • Im one of those people to terrified to watch any horror movie so I a good zombie movie keeps me on the edge of my seat and I have a lot of fun with it.

So, yea they are right, it is a solid "B" movie. BUT when you accept that and zombie movies are already really exciting for you, Diary of the Dead is pretty good.

Its a classic zombie flick shot in 1st person with some badass gore and a good look into the beginning of the apocalypse in the eyes of George Romero.

  • REC is such a better zombie camera film and the camera work is less shakey than cloverfield

  • @waterhugbunny and rec 2

  • I love this movie and it came so close to being almost as good as Cloverfield(which was a masterpiece).

  • the movie was so so with me :( It was like the old days of the zombies, slow walkings and such. BTW George Romero did appear in the movie as a zombie cop :D

  • He was also in a scene from Day of the dead :)

  • I have to agree strongly with not evolving zombies. The emphasis of zombie movies is a few humans hiding and fighting. When they become smart it just becomes normal guerilla warfare, which we have already seen in real life.

  • meh. I liked it. ish

  • Im a sucker for the camcorder film style. And the ending, I thought it was brilliant

  • ur an idiot with NO tast!

  • @EvilLeparacaun ok well sorry but that was the biggest waste of time in my entire life. i had high hopes for it. but it just wasnt very good. period. thats my opinion.

  • @sportsfreakmt I hated it too, but I loved the viral advertising..

  • The Deadly Mantis is 1000 times worse than Cloverfield (which i like)

  • This is how the movie went.

meh, meh, meh, meh, ok, meh, meh, meh, meh, shit.

I boosted it, and I felt ripped off. That's how horrible this movie was.

  • The only good thing about this movie was Samuel. The kick ass awesome deaf Amish guy... with scyth and dynamite :D

Apart from him though this film was bloody awful.

  • haha i watched this film while completely wasted, was a lame film tbh :S

  • @LifeSgreeaat That was a music video.

  • i remember watching dawn of the dead wow lol jobs wtf

  • i enjoyed this movie

  • GUYS, don't know if you ever personaly check the comments, but if you wanna see a great monster-worm movie, check out Tremors 1 and 2. The last two sequals, number 4 and 5 where OK, but the first two scared the crap out of me when I was a kid, and are still very entertaining today.

  • lol yeah i completely agree, but i noticed that the 2 films were very different, like the genre or theme, one was a bit more mysterious and creepy, while the other had more humour (in some ways)

  • lol, yeah, the assblasters monsters where quite over the top

  • @Wowbagger86 lol kevin bacon was awesome in the first one.

  • @Wowbagger86 i saw the first one late one night and its thousands of times better than this piece of shit, im a romero fan but after land of the dead his movies have gone way way down hill.

  • @artiseLBP He was exsecutive produser for The Crazies, wich is a OK movie by my opinion. But I agree, it's time for him to pass the torch.

  • @Wowbagger86 wait, they made a 5th movie? or do you mean the 3rd and 4th movies?

  • @aaronavidon Sorry man, just a typo.

  • @Wowbagger86 oh, ok, nevermind, lol.

  • Here's my big problem with this movie. The movie is very critical towards violent media(movies, news etc) and our voyeuristic attitute towards it, using the guy with camera as an allegory. But how did Romero convey this message? A horror movie, a gruesome one he presumably wants us to watch. Doesn't that seem hypocritical to anyone else?

  • This movie is the worst in the genre

  • @mando267

Nah man,Zombie Transfusion (aka Zombie Automaton is far far worse. nobody can make a zombie movie as diabolically bad as that pile of garbage

  • Since it's George A Romeo... It's sort of like if Sergio Leone should have made a really crappy western movie. I exspected more, and at least not below mediocre... not that I found Land of the dead to good eighter...

  • wow the only zombie movie i liked it was awsome omg and i loved the song in the credits omg it was great!

  • You can say whatever your want, and your taste, quite frankly, doesn't matter to anyone. But the fact is that there would have been no 28 days/weeks without George Romero. That's like saying "After Justin Timberlake and Usher, Michael Jackson literally is a joke". That STATEMENT is a joke! Romero is the father of the genre and, even though I didn't like the "smart zombies" either, his movies are still the best in the genre. And at least the first part of that sentence is NOT merely "my taste".

  • If i can say whatever I want and it doesn't matter to anyone, why did you even write this comment? Look, I know you're trying to be this wise sarcastic prick, but I'd say you're an idiot.. why? because apparently my earlier statement does matter to you.

  • Obviously I AM an idiot, otherwise, as you said very rightly, your misguided comment would NOT matter to me. The problem is, reading such bullshit hurts. I guess that's why "imarockstarforlife" and me are dropping down to your intellectual level and addressing you. But don't worry, this will be the last comment you'll receive from my end. You simply make my brain hurt too much. Reply notices will be deleted unread. Good luck... you'll need it!

  • Being original does not make his movies better. Try showing Dawn of the Dead 2004 and 1978 to someone who has never seen either and ask which one they liked better. Try the same thing with 28 Days/Weeks and Night of the living dead. The genre has changed and improved.

In fact, his films have gone downhill. The social commentary is now forced and contrived, the zombies aren't as scary and the characters have no development. Compare this movie to his originals and the problems are obvious.

  • @mst3k4evur Running super hero movies aren't an improvement. And the reason the social commentary appears forced is because it's present. Super power zombies are mindless jump startles. Not the same as scary.

  • @existenceisrelative

Running does not equal super powered.

No, the social commentary is forced, repetitive, preachy and simple. Try Animal Farm or District 9 for subtle, clever social commentary. Romero's version is to say over and over that 'video violence is bad, you're all sick and pay no attention to the fact that I'm feeding your desire for violence'.

And yes, the running zombies are scarier mainly because if I can leisurely jog away from danger there is no sense of danger.

  • A dead and rotting thing jumping up a flight of stairs is equal to super powers. The message isn't and never was "video violence is bad". And if you can't see the horror in every corpse with the faculties for mobility rising and senselessly eating the living, I'm not sure I can ever explain it to you. Of course you can elude them if you're clever. But most people aren't. Especially when put into a group. And you always have more to fear from the other living humans than you ever do from zombies.

  • no shit, this movie received a quite prestigious awards in the film festival

  • i disliked the evolution of zombies in land of the dead and day of they dead . even tho i liked them ..

  • I have never heard of this movie

  • after 28 days and weeks, george romero is literally a joke.

  • then you have no taste

28 days and weeks were good

but george remero is the king of zombie movies and he always has a message in them

28 days and weeks were avrage and boring half the time

  • ok then your taste is shit

and wow shut the fuck up so original

so i see your insults are as bad as your movie taste

  • haha, right on mr. emo.

  • Im a Life Long Zombie Movie Fan but if you wanna see some really stupid shit go watch american zombie. If you have seen you would notice they to it in this review. i swear to god that movie was an abortion on my tv screen

  • Thanks for making this. I have been trying to figure out if this was the one that has the badass with the bow and arrow. Thanks fellas.

  • zombies are really getting over used these days, i mean, really...

  • Oh man, the part where they talk about how the review was turning into Face the Nation: Zombie Politics was hilarious! And so was the Zombie Breakout Performance! hahaha!

  • Zombie movies are getting cliche. They don't try to scare you anymore they just try to gross you out. I have seen real videos of a guys head being blown off by a bomb, a guy shooting himself on the head etc. So the gross the audience out but doesn't really work on me. The whole POV movie also sucks just like cloverfield and this movie.

  • Comment removed

  • i thought this one was really boring

  • it funny this was the worst romero movie but it was still good

  • Don't kill me but... I thought it was better than Land of the Dead. *runs away*

  • Slow zombies are slow live long and can take alot of shots

Fast zombie very fast can jump for long distances lives short

    Fast zombie+Slow Zombie=epicness

  • lmao when my friends and i watched this our favorite character was samuel, we thought he was bad ass and we were angry when he died

  • zomg at 1:22 its freddy!

  • I've never heard about this movie about just now, it seems like a original zombie movie remake with better fx. Yes Cloverfield kick ass, but if you want to see a real zombie movie, rent "Quarantine", it's pretty scary I guess.

  • You know what could have helped this movie? SOME LIGHTS!

  • 2;40 caught me off gaurd

  • Review REC! It's awesome!

  • this seemed more like a movie to be seen on scifi then in the theaters

  • its funny he got famous by making a b rated movie infamous and you criticize his new movies cause they have the new movie style but his classic taste.... which I love about it but I agree keep the slow zombies I hate these sycho path zombies

  • any zombie movie is a good movie exept zombie diarys. a brittish version of this

  • and Dead Meat! don't forget Dead Meat! *HORRIBLE* =0

  • this film has to be seen as bad before you watch it.

the best part i thought was the random farmer who cant talk, lobs a grenade and as the zombie bits are falling holds up a sign saying 'hello im bill' or something lol

  • lol samuel i liked that part to

  • I'm a huge fan of Romero, I have all of his movies except this one because it was a fucking abomination

  • lol

  • the movie was great, i fucken loved it

  • i just didnt like the fact that Jason doesnt let go of the camera whatsoever, no matter what happens...like when his girlfriend, Debb, was getting attacked by her little brother, at her house, he was just standing there looking like a dumbass...or like when they were about to leave from the hospital, he could've saved the guy in front, you know? like hit the zombie or something, but no, again he stands there looking like a dumbass recording his friend getting attacked by a zombie

  • yea or when the blonde girl was being chased bye ridley outside of the mansion and she was asking for help but he just stood there and said wait i need to capture this

  • yea, the movie was great but when things like that happened, it just made it look stupid

  • Lol its Ironic because of the very beginning, when they're shooting the same seen. I lawled

    haha

  • @FewZero09

    sooo... you hate coverfield?

  • this movie was terrible, like The Happening (but worse) terrible.

made the batman & robin movie look like The dark knight...

  • who was the girl at the end of Diary of the Dead hanging from the tree? Was it someone from the crew or just some random zombie?

  • there are only 3 ways to kill zombies. with a shotgun, an axe, or your car.

  • why didn't they use the zombies like these...on RE5?!

  • I actually liked the movie alot, despite the bad acting I prefer it to Land Of the dead, that was just TOO hollywood for me. Though seeing John Leguizamo as a latin thriller, that was worth it. But I'd have to say my fav scene in Diary of the dead is the hsopital scene when that chick blows out the nurses eyes and it just oozed, freakin awesome.

  • Cloverfield did it better than Romero??? Ugh...NO. Cloverfield was horrible, gave me a headache trying to keep up with the cam. No more first person POV..PLEASE! I cant wait for .......of the dead. The new Romero film.

  • gave you a headache? lol u pussy

  • i loved that amish guy

  • The movie was shithouse. Terrible acting.

  • the protaganist in diary of the dead was a total asshole

  • This film was ok. Alot better than most of the crap i've seen lately! If you want a real fresh and original zombie movie have a look at this one instead!!!

    thedead-movie official trailer

  • i really hated this movie

  • If your a zombie fan and you just want to see an ok zombie flick to hold you over untill another great one comes out id recomend it

  • To the Zombie kid with the arrow in the head; "Stick around"

  • This movie made me sad. I was expecting so much more; I just never got scared, not even a jump or a twitch.

  • That dude w/ the bow and arrow is a nice shot! I mean, a cm off of his target, and he would've nailed her.

  • the acting in this movie were horrendous. If the acting is not good, I have a hard time enjoying any part of the movie.

This movie,... was funny enough to be a comedy.

  • exactly !!!

  • Rental worthy film!

  • I think cloverfield is good. I haven't seen diary of the dead so i can't compare it. But cloverfield looks badass!

  • Diary wasnt that great it was ok maybe even good but yes diary was better If your comparing them because they were both 1st person style but as for as horror goes i carry a zombie fan biased so cloverfield might have been better

  • Cloverfield, features a giant, fucking frog/tadpole monster, not to interesting once i saw it, the fucker was gimpy, dammit, gimpy!

  • Thank you! I've been saying that since it came out!

Who the hell is scared of a tadpole?!?

It's like saw, who the fuck is afraid of engineering degrees?!?

Zombies are fucking classic, especially Romero zombies!

Slow creeping terror will always win out over startling jump moments. Though diary had too many of those for my taste.

And I'm not as infatuated with cheap cg as Romero is these days. Give me prosthetics and blood by 3m and I'll be happy!

  • the beginning of the film was annoying with the characters but once the zombies showed up it got better and you got to love the arrow-wielding alcoholic Brit professor!

  • cloverfield made me dizzy waste of time to watch cloverfield. diary of the dead not to bad.

  • Cloverfield kicked Diary of the Dead's ass.

The characters in Cloverfield were so unique diverse compared to 6 random kids running around.

Cloverfield's pacing was so much better that DOTD's.

    Cloverfield was just BETTER.

  • I saw the movie poster and thought man this should be good.. Shite acting just ruined the entire thing.. never really felt any emotion i couldnt give a shit about the characters the main guy (the guy who holds the camera) his GF i wanted her to get fucking bitten constant bitching..I think i went into this movie thinking its gonna be some amazing zombie film but i shoulda just gone into thinking its ANOTHER zombie film.

  • I've seen George A. Romero's original trilogy of zombie flicks. I still gotta watch Land of the Dead and Diary of the Dead.

I liked Cloverfield, so this should be awesome!
