what was that movie where She played a vary muscled athlete? She had short blond hair in the film. by the way, dose a Hot Dog realley make Her lose control?
I was born in '62 --- I was in love with Patty when i grew up and I still think she's adorable. This is a cute song. Thanks for making me smile, Patty.
Patty Duke took me through my early year's -she was they used to say back then, "the cats meow!". I wrote toher TV show, and when i got the glossy, I was thrilled.
I would give my right arm to be able to really meet her!! Dreams keeps us moving I guess through life.
my favorite song by Patty Duke. I grew up in the late 60s early 70s watching The Patty Duke Show every day after school on channel 11. I wish she would have recorded the song Tell Me Mama. She sang that on her show. She is such a great actress. I thought she was brilliant in The Miracle Worker. She really deserved that oscar that she received for her portrayal of HELEN Keller in that movie. Thank you for posting this song on you tube.
I've always regarded this song as one of the nearly forgotten gems of female rock and roll in the 60's. Listened to it often after being drafted, prior to shipping out to Viet Nam. songs like this bring back memories. Thanks for posting it.
It's a rare male that didn't develop a crush on perky & pretty Patty Duke back in the sixties! Not only a gifted actress but a pretty good singing voice. THANKS for sharing this delightful "blast from the past" with us! You've made my day & my week! Hope ALL your wishes & dreams come true in 2010!!! :)
Man! You know, Patty is actually a very good singer. Maybe she isn't terribly strong vocally, but her voice is very distinct. She has a "character" voice. Very geniune and that's all that matters.
I was in love w/ her too and I was a 12 year old girl...just didn't realize it -- I loved her in Patty Duke stars as Billie and of course My Sweet Charlie and the superb acting in the Miracle Worker....and I watched the Patty Duke Show and played her records over & over again.
I'm in love with Patty Lane

I think this song introduced me to the beauty of the Major 7th chord!
I've since swiped its I(maj7) - vi - ii - V
progression innumerable times.... not that they didn't steal it from the Beatles "This Boy".
And that major to minor shift before "most girl's dream of" still makes me feel like a 12 year old girl!

Yes, this was a good song ~ and could have
possibly charted on it's own, had it not been
the "B" side of DON'T JUST STAND THERE. Patty's follow up single, SAY SOMETHING FUNNY
did chart, but should have climbed higher than it did - she had a nice, girlish sound
that suited her persona very well.
