There's no misunderstanding. If Paul is serious he'd extend his audit to all banks but RP wants to deregulate and create higher interest rates when it's this ability to create vast amounts of credit at interest that's been the cause of the problem.

@Dictum1 I saw that interview. Government spending = tax to the American people. That's why Ron Paul explained his desire to stop government spending thus lowering taxes. If Ron Paul had his way, I think the economy would convulse for a while but would ultimately emerge healthy -5 years if all goes well, I'd say.
He was talking about all spending: both private and government. Go back and listen again, and keep listening until the penny drops.
BTW...the purpose of the post was not to discuss Paul's view on tax and spending it was to establish that he criticised the Fed for keeping interest rates low and instead wants them to rise to the levels that please the markets, and that's clearly what he said. He knows that an audit of the Fed will lead to the eventual abolishment. There's no misunderstanding. If Paul is serious he'd extend his audit to all banks but RP wants to deregulate and create higher interest rates when it's this ability to create vast amounts of credit at interest that's been the cause of the problem.
Regardless of any audit, the Fed and other central banks are soon to be reformed and even replaced and this 'new 'system will be based on unregulated usury.
Ron Paul can cloak his ideas anyway he wants but usury is his master.

Typical of CNN to show the clip from the previous interview where Jesse appeared to be caught out. I.E. Where Jesse suggests that it is current US government policy to take out world leaders extra-judicailly and kill them and Piers Morgan counters this by saying that is exactly what he did as a navy seal.
The two aren't the same.
Good interview by Jesse. He came over as the sincere and honest patriot he is.

Right is right and not; 'might is right.' Though -or because- he's a big guy, Jesse understands that basic concept of socio-political justice so many of our leaders, who are basically worms by physical comparison, seem to fail to understand and or appreciate.Or else: they don't respect justice, only money by any means, even criminal means but, draped in a deceptive clothing of democracy.

They are allowed to set interest rates and charge the Treasury to print money. If they weren't in charge how could they do either of those things?
We don't need central planning of the economy by neo-feudal lords being paid tribute in the form of income taxes (nearly 100% of it goes to the private Fed for allowing the Treasury to print money). End the Fed.

@abcmole income taxes don't go to the fed. They don't even keep most of the money they print. The keep the amount to run the fed 1.5 billion and 6% profit. Member banks pay far more in income tax.

He commissioned a study that found nearly 100% of income tax is fed into the maw of the private Federal Reserve.
The private Fed doesn't print a single dollar, the Treasury does, the private Fed tells government they can print.
Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo own 77% of banking assets, 60% of the US GNP. They are the private Fed and they are closing other banks in record numbers.
