To put the record straight, Dave Grohl drummed on the QOTSA album "Songs for the Deaf", which was their THIRD album, after "Queens of the Stone Age" and "Rated R". Songs for the Deaf was the first album that QOTSA started to gain popularity for, but it was not their first album, it was their third.

The problem with "superbands" always seems to be the same...they come out with an album of 10-12 songs and about 5 of them will be pretty good, one maybe above the rest but it's as if they never release an "alltimer" in rock history...the problem is that there is always something missing from a super band...the chemistry of guys who aren't famous trying to get their name out there who did all the work to get there and finally made it...people who are already famous can't replicate that ever

Considering Dave Grohls work wasnt didnt even really exsist in Nirvana I find that fact really, not neccesary... rather stupid actually. Grohl said so himself, he never gave any of the stuff he wrote when he worked with Nirvana to Cobain because he thought it wasnt good enough. So the fact that you say his work was better there than with foo Fighters is rather stupid considering there was no work presented in Nirvana from him except drum beats.

Josh Homme is more of a conceptualist, and writes/produces better music than Dave Grohl ever will. Homme may just be the most valuable member of this arrangement. I personally think the Foo Fighters are a yawn, Grohl has not impressed outside of the drum kit for me.
