As an American, I'm somewhat confused by the people's action around the world. Obama is an ok man and seems to have good morals but its scary to think many have put him on a pedestal already without him even being in power. Americans look at policies, not color, and even though he'll be better than Bush, how much has yet to be seen.

If Obama doesn't stop the war in Iraq, reverse the Patriot Acts etc... then I would call his presidency disappointing and another waste of 4 years.

I happen to have been in alot of places in Egypt and they have derogatory and racist terms for darker skin people. Children sing it when they see YOU, people point to you on the bus, you even get harassed on the streets and teased etc etc. As for Morocco, I've met a lot of Moroccans and they call darker skin people "mamadu" which is a racist word for West African women and young black male hustlers.
