To be fair, the chap calling in obviously felt very nervous and his mind didn't, 'click', as to how he was supposed to play. It's the same for contestants on quiz shows who answer wrongly to questions that, to the people sat at home, are very simple.  Being put on the spot can do that, sometimes.

I haven't seen this clip in years. It raises so many questions though. What show/channel was this? Who is the presenter? Who is the caller? Did he come back the next day? What was in the box and most importantly, was he employed or not employed?

I do remember seeing this on Live TV back in the 80`s The show was called "Good Morning TV." "GMTV" - or something like that. It was broadcast by ITV. Can`t remember the presenters` name...John...I`d love to know whether he did in fact come back the next day, and what the result was. Don`t suppose we`ll ever know.
